New Orleans is known for its vibrant music, delicious food, and as the birthplace of jazz. But did you know that it’s also home to a growing number of same-sex parent families? LGBTQ+ families are living, loving and thriving in cities across the country and New Orleans is no exception.

At New Orleans Mom, we are sharing insights, stories, and observations from same-sex parents raising children in the Big Easy. We will delve into some of the issues and challenges they face as well as the joys and benefits of having same sex parents.

One of the keys to parenting success in New Orleans is having a strong community. Meeting other LGBTQ+ parents can be a real struggle if you don’t know where to look. Community Groups and organizations give parents and their children an opportunity to meet other families in a supportive and inclusive environment – this includes New Orleans Mom!
