5 Best Kid Friendly Burger Spots in New Orleans

Who doesn’t enjoy a night out when you don’t have to fight your kids to eat or keep reminding them of “inside voices” the entire time? Our go-to family night out meal in New Orleans is a burger spot, the atmosphere is usually more kid-friendly, everyone usually finds something they want to eat and the parents don’t have to cook or wash dishes. Here are a few of New Orleans’ best kid-friendly burger spots.

  1. The Backyard

This Lakeview gem located at 244 W. Harrison Avenue in Lakeview New Orleans is the perfect spot for a family night out. They have burgers, BBQ, hot dogs, fries, tots, and quick service. There is also an adorable kids playspace outside where kids can climb on a jungle gym and slide while waiting to eat. The service is also super fast which is always a plus with kids who may grow impatient while waiting.

2. Acorn Cafe

Adjacent to the Louisiana Children’s Museum in City Park; this Brennan’s restaurant is a must to visit. This is the ultimate kid-friendly restaurant with food parents will LOVE! This is not just a burger place; there is a full menu that offers a variety of delicious, healthy food options, including vegetarian fare. The views are beautiful and the kid-friendly atmosphere makes it a great option for families.

3. Three B’s Burger and Wine Bar

Three B’s is a fun restaurant that is super kid-friendly. The atmosphere is very laid back, the kid menu will make any kiddo happy and the milkshakes are DIVINE! The menu is nearly all burgers so if you have someone who isn’t a burger lover you may want to let them browse the menu before heading over, but otherwise everyone in your family can find a burger to love here.

Three B’s also has an extensive wine selection and the queso and wontons are absolutely delicious. There is a Lakeview and Metairie location but the Lakeview location has a bit more outdoor space if you prefer to dine outdoors. Either way, you can’t go wrong with this family restaurant.

4. Walk-On’s

Walk-On’s is a definite go-to for our family. There is a Metairie, Downtown, and Slidell location for your convenience. The menu is extensive so this is a great place to go with a large group or a family with various tastes in food. But, if you are going for burgers you will not be disappointed, especially with the delicious buns! My kids love going to Walk On’s because they love the food, they don’t have to whisper, their food arrives on a frisbee and the deserts are amazing.

It is always nice to go to a place where everyone can find something that they love. They are also open pretty late so if you are looking for a late-night date spot for just the adults this is also a great option.

5. Desi Vega’s Prime Burgers and Shakes

Desi Vegas in River Ridge is always a quick and easy dinner win! We love that they are never too busy since they move so fast; so we can generally sit down and order fairly quickly. We love the combination of being able to build your own burger to meet your dietary needs, so if you are feeling healthy or wanting to indulge you can meet any of those needs here. The burger and shake of the month always makes the menu feel fresh and new no matter how often you dine here.

The quick service, friendly atmosphere, and food served on metal trays instead of plates help ease the stress of eating out with small kids. The room full of families and a plethora of high chairs and booster seats makes you feel right at home!
