The Witches Walk In Bay St. Louis Is A Wicked Good Time!
The Witches Walk happens once a year in Old Town Bay St. Louis the weekend before Halloween. I highly recommend adding it to the list of weekend trips to take with your girlfriends! And if you’re lucky like me, it’s a fun birthday celebration weekend too! We’ve already started talking about our costumes for the 10th annual celebration next year. Thousands of witches (and golfcarts) were every where you looked. It was an incredible day enjoyed by everyone!
Two of my favorite witches booked the most precious Airbnb one block off Main St. and about 4 blocks from the strip. It was perfect, inexpensive, had a hot tub, and was across the street from a cemetery. For some reason, none of us noticed the cemetery on our drive in Friday. We didn’t explore too much but a couple of us took a look around one afternoon. Much older people were buried here, some from the late 1800s. A few spots still had recent visitors and fresh flowers placed at the graves. It was cool!
My bestie with her always brilliant and creative ideas had us decorate brooms the first night. We enjoyed a quick little walk to PJ’s every morning for coffee. We stopped in Fleurty Girl on our way to the witch’s congregation (need to get your passport stamped?!) On Saturday night, we enjoyed a nice dinner outdoors at Trapani’s Eatery. We had a little bit of everything … spinach and artichoke dip, fried green tomatoes with crabmeat, seafood gumbo, shrimp po-boy, surf and turf po-boy … it was delicious! I don’t think we had to-go boxes ๐
We all left Old Town thinking this is a place we’d love to come back and visit again. This is a place we could visit with our kiddos. I had not been to Bay St. Louis in about 20 years, and this first time back did not disappoint! If you love Halloween and dressing up like a witch, definitely check out the Witches Walk next year. If a quick little getaway to a cute small town is more your jam, you have 50 other weekends to choose from!
