New Restaurant in Mid City: The Post Nola!
This new restaurant in Mid-City is a must try! The Post Nola was opened in April of 2023 located on Esplanade Avenue where Nonna Mia pizzeria used to be.
Whether you are having a mom’s night out, date night, or dining with the family, this spot is perfect for your next outing!
Here is all you need to know before you go:
Summer Hours!
Brunch! Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 11am to 4pm
Happy Hour! Everyday from 3pm to 6pm
The owners:
Matthew Foody and John Segura opened the Post Nola. Matthew is well known in the restaurant industry. He has opened up around 40 restaurants around the country but this is the first one that is his own.
The atmosphere:
The inside is truly charming with vintage photographs and chandeliers. Some of the seating includes pews that were reclaimed from Saints Peter and Paul Church. There were so many special touches that make this restaurant unique. The owners put a lot of creativity into the renovations. There is a bar area and a brunch room! The outdoor patio is large and would be a great place for friends and family to gather.
The food: (American cuisine done VERY well)
My favorite part of this experience was the food. Each dish was tastier than the last. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food especially for the reasonable prices.
Favorite menu items:
Matt’s favorite item on the menu is the Philly Cheesesteak (Steak and Cheese on the menu). Other fan favorites are the Chicken sandwich, the Hot & Sticky, and the Chicken Salad. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the Burrata and the Chicken Sandwich! I can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu!
The kids:
This is a family friendly restaurant. The children’s menu includes hamburger, chicken tender, and grilled cheese.
The area:
I am not familiar with the area but I felt very safe parking and walking to the restaurant. We were there from about 5pm to 7pm. There are a few other businesses and restaurants near by – Fortier Park is across the street and Cafe Degas is next door. There were many trees and lots of shade which is helpful in the summer heat.
Parking:
There is street parking in front of the restaurant. I was able to find a spot right in front of the restaurant.
The future:
The owner is planning on live music on the patio in the fall.
