My First Choice for Summer Camp :: First Tee!

My First Choice for Summer Camp :: First Tee!

There are so many options for Summer Camp in the Greater New Orleans area; however, as a mom, it sometimes feels like there are not many to choose from that fit your child’s needs, wants, favorite hobbies, etc. When they are younger, it is much easier to choose a summer camp solely based on safety, activities, distance, comfort level and many more. My son is 7, going on 8, and has gotten very “picky” on his summer camp choice. (Yes, I let my child help me make decisions on where he wants to go for camp. I can explain my reasoning if anyone is interested). He wants to go somewhere that allows him to do the things he loves: friends, activities, outdoors, basketball and golf.

A little history on when our love for First Tee started. My son has taken weekend golf lessons with First Tee NOLA since he was 5 years old. I learned last year that they offer SUMMER CAMP! Last year was his first year joining their summer camp program and he loved every minute of it. He did 6 weeks of camp at a variety of country clubs throughout the GNO area. First Tee is different than a lot of camps that I have seen with my own eyes, experienced with my children or heard from other parents. Their teacher to student ratio is 1:6 which allows for quality time and work with each individual child. It is very apparent in lessons and in camp how tailored the classes are and how the one on one attention the children receive really makes the children feel listened to and supported on their journey. They offer structure, discipline, enablement of building character, self confidence building and resilience.

I did all of the research and leg work for you and provided all details needed here. I have also included their website.

The weeks of camp do range from 3 days to 5 days, depending on the group your child would fall under and the location for that week.
