Now that most of the 80’s kids have kids who are a little older, we have more options for getting babysitters and having some fun nights out with friends.

With the help of the Facebook world, I have compiled a list (no rhyme or reason to the order) of the best places to go for drinks with your girlfriends or if you want couples’ nights. Another plus of the list, you will most likely not run into the kids who you used to babysit and many people will not refer to you as “ma’am.”

Hog Alley Lounge

• Every Tuesday and Thursday HAPPY HOUR 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. $2 off wine, $1 off draft, $1off liquor, $2.50 domestic bottles.

Blue Ruin Speakeasy

• 3224 Metairie Rd, Metairie, LA 70001
• Old Metairie’s upscale (smoke free) cocktail bar. They serve seasonal craft cocktails, old fashioned and martini menus, wine, beer on tap and even some allocated bourbons from time to time.
• My recommendations: Strawberry Basil Smashed, Espresso Martini

Daquiri Run

• 4337 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001
• They offer way more than just daquiris. They have a full bar, wine and ice cold bottled beer (no draft).

Moonshine Bar and Grill

• 4617 Sanford St, Metairie, LA 70006
• They also offer delicious food and live music/DJs.

Martine’s Lounge

• 2347 Metairie Rd, Metairie, LA 70001
• Happy hour is offered every day from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. for $2.50 domestics, $1 off doubles, $3.50 wells and $2 well shots with any beer.
• Service Industry Happy Hour is Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. until close.

Winston’s Pub & Patio

• Great neighborhood bar and grill that specializes in craft and draft beers, classic cocktails and numerous specialty cocktails.

• Great place for dancing!

Shenanigan’s Kitchen and Cocktails
