We Tried Stitch Fix Kids and Loved It!

stitch fix kids review

If you are a mom to a teen or tween girl, I am sure you have engaged in a clothing debate with your kid. Or you have scoured the internet for hours looking for cute, quality and age appropriate outfits for your child. If this isn’t you, can you please leave a comment so I can learn your secrets? 😉

Fitting rooms were my worst night nightmare!

I was reaching my wits end searching for appropriate clothes for my 11 year old athlete who only wants to wear athleisure wear. She is entering middle school next year and there are :gasp: no uniforms so the idea of finding a full wardrobe for Monday-Friday was beginning to stress me out. Then I remembered my favorite method of maternity shopping, Stitch Fix! If you are not familiar with Stitch Fix it is a subscription based service that allows a stylist to curate wardrobe pieces for you. You answer a series of questions about sizing, preference and wardrobe needs and they send you a personalized package in the mail. The cost is $20 for kid Stitch Fix versus $40 for adults, and the $20 goes towards the items you decide to keep from your “fix.” If you are lucky enough to love all the items in your box, there is a 20% discount on the five items in your fix.

We have done two “fixes” so far, and we’ve had some great luck. The first fix, my daughter was so intrigued by this little brown box that was selected for you. She read the cute little note that described what was in the box and excitedly tried on all the items even if it wasn’t “her style.” With her first box, we went with 3 items, and although two items were pretty close to athleisure, they were cute and comfy and priced very well (think Target prices). The second box was a huge hit. She had been asking when her next box was coming for about a week before it arrived, and she ripped it open and immediately started her fashion show.

We really loved the variety of items that come in the fix box. The in home environment also keeps her a little more open minded, and no one is stressed out from trekking through multiple stores on the hunt for the item that checks all her boxes. The goal is to keep getting boxes over the next few months to build her wardrobe and help her understand her personal style so we can be more selective about the in person stores and styles we try out. I am so happy that we can enjoy the bonding of exploring fashion together like I had hoped for.
