Top 10 NOLA Happy Hours

What mom doesn’t love a good moms night out and a good deal?!?! Fortunately, New Orleans offers a variety of great and delicious Happy Hour specials. Here are my top 10 favorite that you need to try ::

NOLA happy hours1. Cure

Details: Monday-Thursday, 5-7 PM; Friday-Sunday, 3-7 PM; An assortment of $6 classic cocktails, $6-$13 snacks, $5.50 beer

This is my favorite happy hour in the city for two reasons – it goes until 7 pm (later than most happy hours), and it is everyday (including weekends!). The Gin Martini and Daiquiri are my favorite happy hour cocktails, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with ANY of them because everything at Cure is top notch. Bonus: they have a cute outdoor area if you want to enjoy your cocktails al fresco.

2. Willa Jean

Details: Monday-Friday, 3-6 PM; half-priced frozen drinks, wines, snacks, and desserts

Get the Frose’ (frozen rose), Pimento Cheese, and Cookies and Milk dessert; all are half-price for happy hour and will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. If you want to order food that is not on the happy hour menu, the Beet Salad (with roasted beets, pistachios, goat cheese, and a champagne vinaigrette) and the Kale Caesar Said (with roasted cauliflower) are my two favorite salads in NOLA.

3. Wayfare

Details: Monday-Sunday, 3-7 PM; $4 snacks, $5 cocktails, $5 wine

This is another happy hour that I love for the late hours and the fact that it is EVERYDAY. Get the Beet Fries and Pork Belly Old Fashioned, enough said. If you order off the main menu, the Chicken Waldorf Salad is great. The Lemon Icebox Pie is my favorite dessert in the city, so save some room for dessert.

4. Superior Seafood

Details: Monday-Sunday, 4-6:30 PM; Large for the price of a small frozen drink, half-price house bottle of wine, $3 draft beers, 50 cent raw oysters

The Frozen French 75 is my favorite drink in the city, and you get a large for the price of a small during happy hour. Don’t forget to get a dozen raw oysters to go with it. From the main menu, the Salmon Salad is my favorite.

5. Bar Frances

Details: Monday-Sunday, 4-6 PM; $6 cocktails, $5 wine, $4 beer, snacks and sandwiches from $3-$12

Get the Gimlet and the Burger that has caramelized onions, gruyere, and house pickles on a brioche bun.

6. La Casita Taquiera

Details: Monday-Sunday, 3-7 PM; $4 margaritas, $5 mojitos, $5 sangria, $2.50 beer, $2.50 street tacos, $5 guac, $5 quest, $3.50 salsa

Get the margarita. The $2.50 street tacos are decent, but the Cochon de Mexicana and El Fuego tacos on the main menu will knock your socks off if you don’t mind paying a little more.

7. Pythian Market

Details: Monday-Sunday, 4-7 PM; $6 wine, $5 draft beer, $6 gin & tonic and old fashioned, $9 pizzas, $1 oysters, $2 street tacos, $5 jerk or curry chicken, reduced Poke Bowls, and spring rolls

I love Pythian because it’s casual and everyone can find something they like from at least one of their 13 vendors. For happy hour deals, I steer toward the street tacos or Poke bowl. Although they aren’t on happy hour, I am obsessed with their Frozen Watermelon Paloma and Frozen Dark and Stormy. I’ve been insta-stalking them and have also seen a new Lamb Rice Bowl at Little Fig that looks TO. DIE. FOR.

8. Avo

Details: Monday-Thursday, 4-6 PM; Half-price wines by the glass, $6 cocktails, $4 beer, $5-10 vegetables, snacks, and pastas

Get the $6 featured cocktail of the day, the Fried Cauliflower, the daily Flatbread, and the Brussels Sprouts (with pancetta vinaigrette and pickled red onion).

9. Tsunami Sushi

Details: Monday-Friday, 3-6 PM; $5 cocktails, $4 wines, $4 draft beer, 25% off basic rolls, 99 cent nigri sushi, half-price specialty fish

Get a house martini, cosmo, lemon drop martini, or apple-mini for $5. Get the Luscious Lemonfish at half price. The Rainbow Roll, Don Tuan, and Green Monster aren’t on the happy hour deals, but are worth paying full price. For more information visit their website.

10. Pizza Domenica

Details: Monday-Friday, 3-5 PM; Half-off pizza, draft beer, and wine by the glass

You can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas at happy hour specials, but the main attractions everyone raves about (that unfortunately aren’t on the happy hour deals) are the Garlic Knots and the Roasted Cauliflower appetizers. I promise you won’t regret the extra splurge!

Now you know the best deals around, so text a group of mom friends to check out one (or more!) of these great Happy Hours!
