Parking and Shuttles

Over the last year, the airport has enhanced its parking operation to create better efficiencies for passengers. Now, passengers can make parking reservations in advance of their scheduled travel in any of the four parking facilities at park.flymsy.com. There is also now a valet parking option for passengers looking for convenience and a higher level of service.

The shuttle routes were also changed to better accommodate travelers when arriving at the airport from the Rental Car Facility and Economy Garage. The shuttles drop off at the Departures curb outside the ticket lobby allowing passengers to walk directly into the terminal on the ticketing level.

Military Lounge

The Military Lounge is a new amenity that provides comfortable accommodations for active-duty military members and their families at no charge as they travel through MSY. The lounge is located pre-security on Level 3. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, and is staffed by volunteers from the community. In the lounge, service members enjoy free snacks and drinks (donated by local companies and community members), comfortable seating, charging stations and luggage storage.

Since the Military Lounge opened on May 1, 2023, a total of 3,211 active-duty military members from all branches and their dependents (an average of 34 people per day) have used the lounge and volunteers have donated more than 1,000 hours of their time.

Entertainment

Live music and other entertainment bring a sense of place to the airport and welcomes visitors to New Orleans. The entertainment program at MSY highlights local musicians and culture bearers in the Greater New Orleans region while providing entertainment to the millions of passengers traveling through MSY each year. Live music is featured on the Jazz Garden Stage in Baggage Claim four days a week and will expand to include additional locations, days and times. The program features primarily jazz performances representative of the region’s rich musical history and culture, and also highlights other genres of music for special occasions and holidays.

In addition to music, the airport hosts several other annual events including the Krewe Du Louis Parade, Louis Armstrong birthday celebration, Holiday Gift Giveaway and more.

Customer Service Programs

Creating a great passenger experience is at the forefront of everything at MSY. That’s why the Airport offers exciting programs that enhance the travel journey.

The MSY K9 KREWE is a therapy dog program that was launched in 2018. The MSY K9 KREWE helps relieve stress involved with air travel and provides smiles and comfort to Airport guests and employees.

Those not traveling can use the MSY Guest Pass to go post-security to greet family and friends, see them off at the gate, or even just have a meal and shop.

MSY is on a growing list of airports across the world participating in the Hidden Disabilities Program. This program allows our staff to identify those in need of an extra level of customer service by wearing a sunflower lanyard or bracelet.

More Flights

The team at MSY continues to advocate for new air service and has been successful in attracting new airlines and flights including international service to Montreal, Canada, with Air Canada and new flights from Breeze Airways to Ft. Myers, FL.
