Gimme Some of that Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails {New Restaurant on Metairie Road}

Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails is a new restaurant on Metairie Road.Metairie Road has seen a huge boom in restaurants and cocktail lounges in the last couple of years and I, for one, am here for it! Opening at the end of summer, Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails looks to add a unique flair to Old Metairie. Located in the old Garden Gates Home and Garden store, Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails will be one of the largest newest restaurants with the property being situated on over an acre and a half of land. The seasonal menus are now online!

Indoor & Outdoor

With that much space, Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails expects to have both indoor and outdoor spaces for patrons to visit. Come inside and have dinner at a table or have a seat at the counter overlooking the kitchen. The indoor space has been named the Cottage. Nice weather? Have a seat outside in one of their 5 gazebos. Yes, I said gazebos. Each gazebo will provide a private intimate experience with its own heating / cooling system and sound system. Talk about top quality privacy experience. This is something that is not easily found at most restaurants. There will also be a larger seating area outside by the Pavilion.

The Food

Besides the unique seating areas at Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails, let’s talk about the reason most people will be dining there … THE FOOD. Executive chef John Sinclair plans to use ingredients from some of the property’s own herb, vegetable, and flower gardens in the meals, as well as the restaurant’s own Wagyu cattle from a local farm. The menu looks to consist of a new take on comfort foods with the addition of a wood fire outdoor kitchen to complement the large indoor kitchen. The menu will have some seasonal additions added. Some of the released menu items include: caviar and artichoke dip, chargrilled Gulf oysters, tuna niçoise, roasted pork belly, beef kebabs, meatballs with herb salad, shrimp toast and a pork cutlet sandwich. This is even before you get to the amazing desserts made by pastry chef Jillian Duran.

Bring an empty stomach and prepare for a divine culinary experience when Garrison Kitchen + Cocktails opens! Also, save me a spot and a cocktail!
