Making A Meal in a Bag :: An Easy & Affordable Way Your Family Can Help Hungry Families

I recently saw a post on TikTok from Dollar Tree Dinners about making bags of shelf-stable items that are used to make an entire meal for a family. With the high prices of groceries these days and the current government shutdown putting SNAP benefits at risk, I wanted to try to help where I can.

There are lots of variations of meals in bags on her page, like a 5-can chili and even chicken & dumplings. Since I make a chicken taco soup that is very similar to the one Dollar Tree Dinners showed in the video I saw, I figured that was a great place to start. I purchased everything at ALDI to get the biggest bang for my buck and made several bags for my local food pantry.
