10+ Crime Podcasts You’ll Love

Podcasts have become popular in the last few years, and you can find one about almost any topic. If you are like me, you love a good crime podcast – something to get my senses heightened and heart racing.

Sometimes I skip around and listen to a few for a while and sometimes I dive into one, following each episode in order. My interest peaked when I started with the Murdaugh Murders podcast (now known as True Sunlight) by Mandy Matney. I work in downtown New Orleans but live in Kenner and the traffic during my daily commute can make any sane person want to snap! So, I turned to podcasts to give my mind something else to think about besides the people weaving in and out of traffic lanes.

Why Can’t We Talk About Amanda’s Mom? by Sarah Cailean :: This podcast includes two seasons – the first surrounding the unsolved murder of Renee Bergeron who is from New Orleans. The second season surrounds the unsolved case of Jennifer Judd. Both seasons are intriguing and perfect for the little detective inside of us all.

Anatomy of Murder by Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi & Scott Weinberger :: With almost 200 episodes, this podcast dives into the many layers of a murder case and how each layer has to be examined by insiders to uncover the truth.

Sword & Scale by Mike Boudet :: Featuring almost 400 episodes, this true crime podcast looks into the world of crime and the criminal justice system in response to it and is sure to make you question what you think you know.

Crime Junkie by Ashley Flowers & Brit Prawat :: This podcast hosts a new crime story every Monday and Thursday each week where the hosts discuss the facts and their own perspectives of what takes place.

My Favorite Murder by Georgia Hardstark & Karen Kilgariff :: My Favorite Murder has almost 900 episodes to choose from and follows true crimes each week involving serial killers like the Night Stalker, cold cases, and survivor stories.

Strange and Unexplained by Daisy Eagan :: This podcast is surely going to make you say “hmmm”. With a new episode each week, a true story will be unveiled that may make you keep the lights on or give you uncontrollable laughter.

Devan Orellana
Devan was born and raised in Kenner, attended Archbishop Chapelle High School, and works at Tulane University. She married her soulmate in 2016 and they have two beautiful children together, Mason and McKinsey. She co-owns ASD Designs (asd-designs.com) where she paints and crafts with two extraordinary women. She is also a Louisiana notary. When she isn’t at a dance class for her daughter or the baseball/soccer field for her son, she likes to read crime stories or just be with her family. Devan’s life is quite hectic with something always on the calendar, but she truly would not have it any other way!
