When my daughter’s birthday was quickly approaching a few months ago, I found myself conflicted about how to celebrate it.
She wasn’t a “little girl” anymore, but also not quite a “big girl’ either. Intrigued to find something fresh and new for her, I stumbled upon a fascinating party idea that would not only be appealing to my daughter but also make her feel slightly more “grown-up.” Conveniently located in the heart of Metairie, off of Severn Ave., and inside the NaturaLashes eyelash bar, was a hidden little gem- a party space for an adorable makeup party. The best part of this unique concept is they don’t just do your child’s makeup, they TEACH your child how to actually color match and apply makeup. My daughter is on a dance team, so she is used to getting her makeup done for every competition. However, she really doesn’t understand how to apply it. My daughter was very excited when I told her what I had discovered while we discussed birthday party ideas. She was all in and excitedly invited 4 of her best friends to join her for the experience!
We began our adventure
We started off at VIVI and picked up some Bubble Tea to get the party started. We then walked around the corner to NaturaLashes. They were greeted with smiles and welcoming faces. They all picked a spot at the adorable round table. The girls were presented with a paper and a complimentary fuzzy pen to follow along with the makeup routine and jot down which makeup worked best for each of them individually. They sat in front of bright LED mirrors while their personal makeup trays were set up for them to begin. The instructor went step – by step with the entire process. From moisturizer to a light highlight, they sat there paying attention, learning, and truly enjoying the entire process. The instructor assisted each girl with each application, making the experience more personal. After they completed their look, they were each given a goody bag of fun things to take home. This party was not only fun, but they all actually learned new skills and had fun doing it together. 10/10 recommend!
