4 Clean Eating Recipes You Can Start Making Today
If you are looking to incorporate clean recipes in your mix, I’ve got 4 really easy ones you can start today!
If you want to know a little bit more about “clean” eating and how my family’s journey started, check it out here.
Eating clean foods without all the added ingredients doesn’t have to be a monumental task.
Below you will find 4 simple meals that are made with real whole ingredients for you and your family. Four of my favorite clean recipes are easy to throw together. I am not by any means a chef. I do not have specific measurements and eyeball most of everything! Have any questions – please ask!
We took meals we were already making and just made some adjustments to make them cleaner.
Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo Pasta
- 1.5lbs of Chicken – organic – I do a combination of white and dark meat.
- 1 jar of Primal Kitchen no-dairy Alfredo sauce
- 1 box of Tumeric pasta
- Organic valley parmesan cheese
- Fresh or frozen broccoli.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Cut the chicken into smaller pieces. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, and toss in some olive oil to taste. Cook uncovered for about 15 minutes or until chicken is not pink in the middle.
While the chicken is cooking, get water boiling for the pasta. In a separate pot, steam chopped broccoli. Cook both the pasta and the broccoli until they are el dente.
When the chicken is done, toss the pasta, broccoli, and chicken into a large enough pan or pot. Mix in the jar of Primal Kitchen No-Dairy Alfredo sauce. Cook on low heat to warm it all up. I like to add extra garlic powder.
Serve in a bowl and add the parmesan cheese!
Tip – for the kids who won’t eat broccoli. My kids hate the top of the broccoli for whatever reason but I like to try and squeeze greens in there. So I chop the tree part of the broccoli after I cook into small tiny pieces and just stir it into the mix! They never know!
Turkey Meat Quesadilla
- 1lb organic turkey ground meat
- Organic Valley mild cheddar shredded cheese
- Baby spinach
- Siete almond flour tortilla
- Siete taco seasoning mix (this link is for a spicy taco seasoning. There is a regular version, I just couldn’t find a link.)
Cook turkey ground meat in a pan until fully cooked. Add seasoning packet per directions on the packet. Chop up spinach into very small pieces. (Again squeezing a green in there that they won’t taste)
On half of the almond flower tortilla, add cheese, seasoned meat, spinach, and more cheese on top and fold the other half of the tortilla on top.
Heat up in a frying pan until the tortilla is crispy on both sides. I find my kids can eat two of these compared to the normal burrito flour tortillas.
Shrimp Stir Fry
- 1lb of peeled and deveined shrimp
- Coconut Secret Coco Aminos Teriyaki sauce
- Garlic powder
- Bell pepper
- Onion
- Asparagus
- Thai Brown rice stir fry pasta
Preheat over to 425 degrees. Rinse the shrimp and pat dry. Chop up 1/2 of bell paper and 1/4 onion in chunky pieces. Chop asparagus. Toss shrimp, onion, bell pepper, and asparagus all into a cooking pan. Season with garlic powder and Coconut Aminos Teriyaki Sauce. I eyeball it until it looks covered but not too saucy. I like to have extra for the end. Put in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked.
While that is in the oven, cook pasta. After the shrimp mixture is cooked thoroughly, toss pasta, shrimp, and veggies in a frying pan. Add extra teriyaki sauce and cook until warm.
Jambalaya in your Instant Pot
- 2 cups of brown rice
- 2 cups of beef broth (Kettle and Fire brand)
- 1.5lbs of organic chicken
- 1 pack of 100% grass-fed beef sausage
- 2 cups of trinity mix
- 1 jar of Primal Kitchen Mushroom Gravy (I have only been able to find at Fresh Market or Thrive Market)
- 1 small can of 365 tomato sauce (or some Raos if I have some leftover from anything night!)
- 3/4 stick of unsalted organic butter
This is one of the easiest recipes I cook every other week! Chop up chicken and sausage to desired size pieces. Put the butter in the instant pot at the bottom, then chicken and sausage, and everything else. Mix together. Pressure cook for 23 minutes. Release pressure and stir. I turn the Instant Pot off to let cool and let the rice soak up the liquid. Serve and enjoy!
As I mentioned above, I am not a gourmet cook and eyeball a lot of things. Always salt and season to taste. Any questions, comment below!
