I have a slight obsession with monogramming. I like to wear monogramming, give it as a gift and dress my daughter in it. I love the quote by Reese Witherspoon that says, “If it’s not moving, monogram it.”
That quote pretty much applies to my daily life. My sister even jokes that when my daughter is not in something monogrammed that she doesn’t know her name. I found out that February is National Embroidery and Monogram month, and I will appropriately use this as a reason to celebrate and have something monogrammed! I know that I am not the only one with this obsession and that there are many moms out there who love a little personalization in their life. So much so that many stay at home moms have made this a full time job.
These mostly Facebook-based businesses are backed by NOLA moms who are using their time and creativity to dress our little ones. They are working feverishly in their garages, spare bedrooms and kitchen tables armed with swatches of fabrics for appliques and spools of thread.
