New Orleans Schools, Admissions Tours and School Open Houses

Whether you choose private, public, religious or otherwise – choosing a school in New Orleans is a huge challenge because it comes with a variety of educational choices and options. Admittedly, in the era of COVID-19 educational choices have become an even more hot button topic. The virus has created new questions for parents to ask. What are the safety plans? How does a school transform when virtual learning is the only option? What does school look like in this new normal?

We invite you to peruse our listing for a greater New Orleans area school (including Metairie, Kenner and Northshore schools) that meets your family’s needs and priorities. We recommend that you “visit” as many schools as possible at the Open Houses listed below (whether that is virtual or in person) and talk to as many New Orleans parents as you can find.

If you have questions about specific schools or processes, we also encourage you to ask the moms in our neighborhood groups about their thoughts and experiences. Who better to ask about local New Orleans schools than actual moms who have experienced the schools themselves?

Please know that New Orleans Mom recognizes that school choices will be hard this year. We want you to know that whatever you choose for your family we respect you.

Do you have a little one that is not quite ready for school? You can check out a comprehensive list of New Orleans early childhood options including preschools and mother’s day out programs HERE

Would you like to have your school included? Please email Karen{@}neworleansmom{dot}com.
