TikTok Trending Recipes :: Protein Cookie Dough 2 Ways

I’m not entirely what I searched for or liked in order for the TikTok algorithm to think I’m a fan of cottage cheese, but here we are. There’s an inordinate amount of cottage cheese recipes out there and, I’ll be honest, very few of them pique my interest. It’s definitely a texture thing for me — I can’t stand the lumpy look of the curds. Apparently, I’m not alone in this because the vast majority of the TikTok recipes require blending the cottage cheese in a blender until smooth. This first version of a Protein Cookie Dough is no exception. I decided to try it out to see if it was worth the hype.

But because I am also on the side of TikTok about finding delicious ways to get more protein into my diet, I figured I’d also try the viral Greek yogurt version of Protein Cookie Dough, too.

And to make things interesting, I made both at the same time and served them to my very picky toddlers to see which one they preferred. (Results at the end!)

Protein Cookie Dough (The Cottage Cheese Version)

Makes a single serving

1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 tablespoon maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup almond flour
2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder
Chocolate chips (measure these with your heart!)

Place the cottage cheese, sweetener, and vanilla extract in the bowl of a food processor or blender and blend until completely smooth. Transfer to a bowl and add the almond flour and protein powder and stir well. Fold in the chocolate chips and enjoy! Store any leftovers in the fridge.

Protein Cookie Dough (The Greek Yogurt Version)

Makes a single serving

2 tablespoons peanut butter or almond butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon almond flour
1 serving of vanilla protein powder
Chocolate chips (measure these with your heart!)

Place peanut butter in a bowl and microwave about 15 seconds until melted. Add your sweetener, vanilla extract, and Greek yogurt and mix until completely smooth. Add the almond flour and protein powder and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips and enjoy! Store any leftovers in the fridge.

And the winner (as judged by my team of 3 picky toddlers) is… the Cottage Cheese version!

The Greek Yogurt version had a much stronger peanut butter flavor — and even my PB-obsessed oldest liked the Cottage Cheese one better.

Which version does your family prefer?
