Where to Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree in Louisiana & Mississippi
It may seem hard to believe but the holiday season is officially here. The weather (occasionally) is getting cooler and it’s nearly time to start holiday decorating. Maybe you have a long standing family tradition of cutting your own tree or perhaps you’re looking to start one. Below you’ll find plenty of options and lots of holiday family memories to be made!
Louisiana
Yawn Station Christmas Tree Farm
Where: 29400 Ruby Purvis Road, Independence, Louisiana 70443
When: Opening November 23, 2024 from 9am-5pm daily (except on Thanksgiving Day, open from 2pm-5pm)
What you need to know: The farm offers many varieties of trees from 3’-16’ including some precut options. They offer restrooms, picnic tables, miniature train rides, hand saws and carts, netting for transport and will help you secure your tree to your vehicle.

Brushy Branch Farm
Where: 51211 Narretto Road, Loranger, Louisiana 70446
When: Opens Nov. 24th 3-5pm, Nov. 28th 3-5pm, Nov. 29-30 and Dec 1st 12-5pm and Dec 7-8 12-5pm
What you need to know: Come on out to the farm and cut a beautiful Christmas tree this year. $11 a foot per tree. Activities open for kids with wrist band $8 (does not include Santa pictures). Adults free

County Pines Christmas Tree Farm
Where: 81332 Jim Sharp Rd Covington, LA 70435
When: Opens the day after Thanksgiving and weekends after that until sold out from 8am-5pm (unless it’s raining).
What you need to know: Employees available to cut and process your tree, but a hand saw can be provided if you would like to cut down your own. Gas or battery powered saws are not allowed by customers.

Shady Pond Tree Farm
Where: 37226 Pine St. Extension Pearl River, Louisiana
When: Check website for 2024 season dates.
What you need to know: Shady Pond Tree Farm allows you to choose and cut your own tree from their 45 acre farm with plenty to see. They grow exotic Christmas trees from around the world.

Tiger Branch Christmas Trees
Where: 18075 Tiger Branch Road, Covington, LA 70435
When: Open Nov. 29th, 30th and December 1st, 7th and 8th, 2024 from 9am to 5pm. Pending sales volume and weather. Be sure and check Facebook for more information.
What you need to know: They sell Leyland Cypress, Carolina Sapphire and Blue Ice varieties. Dogs are welcome (clean up behind them) and they only accept cash or check with Personal ID.

Steele’s Christmas Tree Farm
Where: 56459 Dollar Road Angie, LA 70426
When: They will be open Thanksgiving Day at 2pm and Black Friday from 10am-5pm. For the rest of the season they are open from 2-5pm Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm on Saturday and 1-5pm on Sunday.
What you need to know: They only accept cash or check. They offer over 1,500 trees to pick from ranging 5-20’ tall. Steele’s provides saws or if you prefer they can do the cutting for you. Also offered is free shaking and bailing of all trees. Snow flocking is also available. Species: Leyland Cypress, Carolina Sapphire, Blue Ice. Precut: Scotch Pine

Tassin Trees and Trimmings

When: Limited dates available by sign-up only beginning Nov. 23, 2024.
What you need to know: Along with cutting down your own Christmas tree, Tassin Tree Farm offers train rides, ornament decorating and snow games. There are 2 types of trees available ranging in height from 6- 16 feet. Prices are $10 per foot on a perfectly shaped tree and others will be priced less.

What you need to know: Each tree is priced individually with 7 types of tree to choose from! They average $12 per foot, i.e. a 6-foot tree will be around $72-$78. Only staff can cut down the trees. Professional photos can be pre-booked. with 7 types of tree to choose from!

Mississippi
Holly Berry Hills Christmas Tree Farm

When: Pre-tag days for the Christmas tree farm is Saturday November 16th and 23rd this year! Open 9 am to 4 pm. Open for pick up on Friday November 29th and Saturday November 30th.
What you need to know: Only cash and checks are accepted.

Christmas Memories Tree Farm

When: Beginning Nov. 28th. Be sure and check at their Facebook for the most up to date information on their opening dates and times.
What you need to know: Christmas Memories Tree Farm has fields full of naturally grown Leyland Cyrpess trees available for choose and cut with assistance available if needed.

Timberhill Christmas Tree Farm

When: Opening Thanksgiving day at 2pm and the following day at 9am. Open on weekends, check the website for specific weekend hours.
What you need to know: Saws are provided as well as carts to transport your tree from the field. If needed, assistance is available for tree cutting. Trees vary in height from 6-15′.
