Where to Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree in Louisiana & Mississippi
It may seem hard to believe but the holiday season is officially here. The weather (occasionally) is getting cooler and it’s nearly time to start holiday decorating. Maybe you have a long standing family tradition of cutting your own tree or perhaps you’re looking to start one. Below you’ll find plenty of options and lots of holiday family memories to be made!
Louisiana
Yawn Station Christmas Tree Farm

When: Opening November 18, 2023 through December 10, 2023 from 9am-5pm daily (except on Thanksgiving Day, open from 2pm-5pm)
What you need to know: The farm offers many varieties of trees from 3’-16’ including some precut options. They offer restrooms, picnic tables, miniature train rides, hand saws and carts, netting for transport and will help you secure your tree to your vehicle.

County Pines Christmas Tree Farm

Shady Pond Tree Farm
Where: 37226 Pine St. Extension Pearl River, Louisiana
When: November 24, 2023 through December 18, 2023. Check the website for specific open days and times as they do vary.
What you need to know: Shady Pond Tree Farm allows you to choose and cut your own tree from their 45 acre farm with plenty to see. They grow exotic Christmas trees from around the world.

Tiger Branch Christmas Trees
Where: 18075 Tiger Branch Road, Covington, LA 70435
When: They will be open Nov 24th, 25th and 26th. Then, December 2nd, and 3rd, 2023 from 9am to 5pm. Pending sales volume and weather. Be sure and check Facebook for more information.
What you need to know: They sell Leyland Cypress, Carolina Sapphire and Blue Ice varieties. Dogs are welcome and they only accept cash or check.

Steele’s Christmas Tree Farm
Where: 56459 Dollar Road Angie, LA 70426
When: They will be open Thanksgiving Day at 2pm and Black Friday from 10am-5pm. For the rest of the season they are open from 2-5pm Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm on Saturday and 1-5pm on Sunday.
What you need to know: They only accept cash or check. They offer over 2,000 trees to pick from ranging 5-18’ tall. Steele’s provides saws or if you prefer they can do the cutting for you.Also offered is free shaking and bailing of all trees.

What you need to know: Along with cutting down your own Christmas tree, Tassin Tree Farm offers train rides, ornament decorating and snow games.

Holly Berry Hills Christmas Tree Farm

When: Open November 11, 18 from 9am-4pm for pre-tag days and then will open November 23rd from 2pm-4pm for the season and will be the following 24th-25th 9am to 4pm 26th 2pm-4pm and then the following will be our weekly schedule. Timberhill Christmas Tree Farm

When: Opening Thanksgiving day at 2pm and the following day at 9am. Weekdays 2pm – dark, Saturdays 9am – dark, Sundays 1pm – dark
What you need to know: Saws are provided as well as carts to transport your tree from the field. If needed, assistance is available for tree cutting.
