Back to School Boogaloo: Help Students Get Back To School Ready
Manning Family Children’s is hosting their 3rd annual Back to School Boogaloo presented by
Louisiana Healthcare Connections on Saturday, July 26 where they will distribute more than
2,000 free back packs filled with school supplies to families in need. They are asking for the
community’s support to donate much needed school supplies like:
- Pens
- Pencils
- Crayons
- Scissors
- Markers
- Glue sticks
- Pocket folders
- Notebooks
- Looseleaf paper

Items can be donated through the hospital’s Amazon Wish List, dropped off in the designated collection bins located throughout the hospital or by making a monetary donation here. All funds raised through the link will go towards purchasing school supplies.
Back to School Boogaloo
Get back-to-school ready with the third annual Back to School Boogaloo presented by
Louisiana Healthcare Connections – a free health, wellness and resource fair for New Orleans students and families!
With more than 36 event partners, including the Office of Youth and Families, NOLA Public
Library and Louisiana Children’s Museum, families can engage with resources they can use to bolster the health and wellness of their children before school starts.
Families will have access to free vaccinations, sports physicals and primary care and dental resources. In addition, children will have the opportunity to receive free haircuts and school supplies (while supplies last). Families are invited to take advantage of this event to prepare for the school year ahead and enjoy an array of activities for kids and families, free food donated by Lemoine and Blue Runner, games, live music and more.
The 3rd annual Back to School Boogaloo is presented by Louisiana Healthcare Connections and hosted by NOLA Public Schools, Agenda for Children, Manning Family Children’s Hospital and New Orleans East Hospital with support from Council member Oliver Thomas.
