To My Little Kindergarten Graduate: A Letter from Mom

My Dearest Sadie,

I can hardly believe we’re here already… kindergarten graduation. Wasn’t it just yesterday I watched you walk through those big school doors for the very first time in Pre-K3? I still remember the way you looked up at me with wide, wondering eyes, your tote bag nearly swallowing you whole. I kissed you goodbye, waved through teary eyes, and watched you step into a brand-new world — brave, curious, and full of heart.

And now, here we are.

This year, you’ve grown in ways I never could have imagined. You’ve learned to read your very first books, to count higher than you ever thought you could, to raise your hand with confidence, and to share your crayons and your kindness freely. But more than anything, you’ve grown in heart. I’ve seen you make new friends, offer hugs without hesitation, recover from tough days with quiet strength, and beam with pride when you accomplished something new.

You’ve taught me so much, too. You’ve reminded me to slow down and see the magic in the little things—a rainbow drawn on the sidewalk, a perfectly chosen sticker, a song sung at the top of your lungs. You’ve shown me that courage doesn’t always roar; sometimes it whispers, “Try again,” and quietly does just that.

As you take this small-but-mighty step from kindergarten into the next chapter, there are a few things I want you to always remember:

You are brave.
You are kind.
You are enough — exactly as you are.

And no matter how tall you grow or how far you go, I will always be your biggest cheerleader, your soft place to land, and the arms that will always be your safe place.

Today we celebrate your kindergarten graduation. Tomorrow, we keep cheering you on as you become more and more the amazing young girl you’re meant to be.

I am endlessly proud of you. And so very lucky to be your mom.

With all my heart,
Mommy
