Why the Bambino App is my Favorite Mom Find Yet!

“This year, I want to spend less time with my kids,” I exclaimed to a table full of 2 year old moms. I was half serious and half joking.

You see, I’ve been a stay at home mom to twin boys for the past 2 1/2 years and to say they’ve been the focus of my life would be an understatement. They have been my first, second, and last all at once, and I’ve been slightly obsessed with them. In the rare instances we left our children, it was usually with family or friends. We are so grateful to our family and friends for helping us through these first few years, but they have lives of their own. And, we are excited to lean on them less as our children grow up.

My babies are growing into independent and confident boys. They have started school a few mornings a week. They no longer wail when they leave my side. In fact they run into school and greet babysitters with glee. The demands of twin life have lessened, and they have become light years easier. We are entering a new phase of our lives, and I’m determined to take advantage of our new found ease.

Parents have been telling me about the Bambino app since last summer, and it took me 6 months to try it for myself.  I really wish I would have tried it sooner.  It’s been a game changer for our family!

The app itself is a breeze to use. You create a sitter request with details about your family, the times you need someone, and your expectations for the caregiver. You can then search for a sitter based on hourly rates, reviews, distance, background checks, and a host of other criteria.

My favorite aspect of the app is that not only are you connected to tons of other local parents who review and rate the sitters, but you can specifically connect with your friends and other parents you know personally to share a favorites list and recommend sitters to each other.

Bambino has made it easy to find quality sitters quickly which has been perfect for last minute outings. Another big perk of the app for me is that by adding Bambino to my sitter roster, I can ALWAYS find someone even during holidays and big events in the city when it usually meant skipping because sitters were too hard to find.

We’ve made a commitment this year to get out of the house at least once week without kids whether it be a date night or a night out with friends. It has been so good for our marriage and I’ve loved having actual conversations with my friends again. I’m so excited for more date nights, more girls’ nights out, and a renewed focus on myself in the coming year.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come home after using Bambino to have my kids beg to have their sitter come back again soon or tell me that whatever new fun game their sitter came up with was the best part of their day. I realized that not only was this good for myself and my marriage, but it was also good for my kids.  They got to interact with someone who came geared with fresh energy and fresh ideas for play.

Bambino has truly been a win win for everyone in our family.

I’m really proud of the mom I’ve been the first few years of parenthood. But, I’m excited for this new chapter. I’m excited to be a better wife, a better friend, and a better me. And, I know that it will only make me a better mom.

If you’ve been thinking about trying Bambino, this New Orleans mom can’t recommend it enough! And if you are a friend reading this that I haven’t seen enough since motherhood hit, give me a call or send me a text. Let’s get dinner soon! I won’t have a problem finding a sitter!
