We’re TWO New Orleans Moms Stronger :: Meet Our New Contributors

We are pleased to introduce our community to newest members of the New Orleans Mom team. Each one is a powerful, energetic and inspiring New Orleans mom, and we can’t wait for you all to get to know them. We are honored to have these women join our growing team.

Katherine Magri

Originally from: Metairie, LA

Her Krewe: Mike, Finn (12) and Nina (6)

Her last NOLA meal would be :: Shaya’s Fried Chicken Hummus, La Crepe Nanou’s cheese plate and French Onion Soup and two scoops of petit four ice cream from Creole Creamery.

Her favorite snowball flavor :: half Pineapple, half Strawberry with condensed milk

She believes the best king cakes are found :: at Haydel’s with cream cheese

During Mardi Gras, you’ll find her :: dancing on Magazine Street, embarrassing her children when bands and dance teams pass by

During the Saints games, you’ll find her :: taking a nap because it’s Sunday

Kids at Jazz Fest :: ABSOLUTELY! Passing down the love of the city to all the little people

Raising kids in New Orleans is :: your kids asking if it’s going to flood when it rains (that happens everywhere, right?)

Dana Wattigney

Originally From: Omaha, Nebraska. She has lived in Belle Chasse for the last 7 years.

Her Krewe: Ryan, Mila Jane (9), and Rex (6)

Her last NOLA meal would be: Crawfish Monica, a Port of Call burger & potato, or a perfect medium rare steak from Desi Vegas or Muriels.

Her favorite snowball flavor: I’m an old-fashioned chocolate snowball kind of gal!

She believes the best king cakes around are: Dough Nguyener’s in Gretna or Randzazzos – cream cheese filling is a MUST!

During Mardi Gras you will find her: parading with all my favorite ladies in the Krewe of Cleopatra, I have been riding since 2017. Mardi Gras week, you’ll find me staycationing with my kids & in the stands or out of town!

During the Saints games you’ll find her: either in the dome cheering on our boys or in front of a tv, cheering on our boys! We are huge Saints Fans in my house, and I love the energy of the city of Saints Sundays.

Kids at Jazzfest?: I haven’t braved it quite yet, but not opposed to it! Our kids are music lovers like us and I’m sure will attend many concerts in the future.

Raising kids in New Orleans: is a BLAST! Not growing up down here, I have gotten to experience so many different events through their eyes. I love being able to bring them to all the fun events.
