Top Three Parenting Podcasts You Should Listen To

Parenting is incredibly rewarding and often challenging. After 19 years of being a mom and four kids (ages 7 to 19), I should feel like a pro, but they keep throwing curveballs! Each child has different needs, wants, and dreams, and I’ve learned there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting.

Parenting for me has been an ever-evolving lesson in patience, growth, and reflection. I’ve questioned my own wants and needs, and I’ve had to reshape some of my beliefs and expectations. I’ve learned that while the way I was parented wasn’t wrong, it doesn’t necessarily work for me and my family.

Parenting is a journey filled with highs and lows, and sometimes we all need a little guidance and support along the way. I often turn to my village, parenting books, and my own parents for advice. Lately, I’ve found immense value in tuning into podcasts that offer insightful advice and relatable stories. Listening to podcasts has provided me with some extra support and fresh perspectives during this rollercoaster ride of parenting.

Here are three of my favorite parenting podcasts that I highly recommend:

**1. Good Inside with Dr. Becky**

If you’re looking for practical parenting advice backed by psychology, look no further than “Good Inside with Dr. Becky.” Dr. Becky Kennedy, a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety and parenting, offers valuable insights into raising emotionally resilient children. Her episodes cover a range of topics, from managing meltdowns to fostering healthy communication with your kids. Dr. Becky’s warm approach and expert knowledge make this podcast a must-listen for any parent. Dr. Becky’s podcast is available on Spotify & Apple Podcasts.

**2. We Can Do Hard Things**

I have been a Glennon Doyle fan since my early days of parenting. Her podcast, “We Can Do Hard Things,” is like a compassionate pep talk for any and everyone who is navigating life’s challenges. As a bestselling author and advocate, Glennon brings her trademark honesty and vulnerability to each episode. She dives deep into topics like self-acceptance, relationships, and personal growth alongside her partner, Abby Womback, & her sister, Amanda. This podcast inspires you to embrace the messy and beautiful aspects of life while reminding you that you’re not alone in this journey. While this podcast isn’t solely focused on parenting, many of the insights and discussions resonate deeply with the parenting experience

**3. After Bedtime with Big Little Feelings**

“After Bedtime” by Big Little Feelings is a gem for parents dealing with toddlers and preschoolers. Parenting coaches Deena Margolin and Kristin Gallant share practical tips and strategies for handling common parenting dilemmas, such as bedtime battles, picky eating, and tantrums. Though I am out of the toddler & preschooler stages of parenting, I find that parenting tweens and teens is remarkably similar to parenting toddlers.  Their episodes are hilarious, informative, and also incredibly relatable. Listening to this podcast feels like chatting with your besties who get what you’re going through.

Each of these podcasts offers unique perspectives and actionable advice, making them invaluable resources. Whether you’re looking for strategies to manage everyday challenges or seeking reassurance on your parenting journey, give these podcasts a listen—they just might become your go-to companions in the ups and downs of parenthood.
