The Podcast Addict Is Back Again

I’m Back

That’s right y’all I am back and believe it or not, I have a whole new list of podcasts for your listening pleasure. If you haven’t read my first two posts on my podcast selections, you can find them here and here.

Now you may be asking yourself, “How does one have the time to listen to all these podcasts?” First I drive the Causeway a lot. I also have AirPods in most of the day, whether it is while I clean, fold laundry, make dinner, sit outside with the dogs, or when I am wandering Target. My kids are older and they’re usually off doing their own things or at school, the husband is at work, and I need the background noise, so podcasts are my go-to! Okay, let’s get down to business!

True Crime

Gone South: Travel over to Mandeville for this look into the 1987 unsolved murder of Margaret Coon in the Beau Chene subdivision. There are 8 episodes in this podcast, each about 45 minutes each.

Murder In America: Hosted by newlyweds Colin and Courtney Browen, this podcast takes a deep dive into some of the most jaw-dropping and gruesome murders in America. The episodes are broken down state by state; some are murders that have made national news and others are not. I have listened to a few that made me think it was time to listen to something non-murdery for the rest of the day.

Crimes of the Centuries: This podcast revisits some of the most infamous crimes, crimes so shocking that they are often called a crime of the century, but then become forgotten about as time goes on.

Nightmare Next Door: You know those peaceful small towns, where nothing happens? Well, this podcast takes a look at the dark secret and crimes that happen in those seemingly perfect small towns.

Snapped: From the Oxygen network, the hit TV show is now a podcast, listen and find out what exactly it takes to make a woman snap.

Intriguing Stories

Something Was Wrong: Tiffany Reese hosts this series and it is nothing short of amazing. Each season shares the stories of individuals who have experienced some kind of shocking, often traumatic life event and how they have recovered and moved on to share their stories as a way to bring awareness, and help others. Topics that can be triggering some topics include mental abuse, religious abuse, and false identity.

Twin Flames: I don’t even know where to start with this one! This podcast interviews people who fell victim to Jeff and Shaleia, who created an online community for people looking for their “Twin Flame.” The couple guaranteed that members would find the person who was made just for them. Some of the lengths members would go to find and create the connections were wild.

Feel-Good Shows

She Just Glows: I have followed Janie Porter on Instagram for several years now. I was drawn to her because of her real-life approach to motherhood. She is funny and honest about all things that we face when becoming mothers and the stress we put on ourselves to be that perfect mom we see all over social media. Through some personal changes and hurdles, Janie has become a joy coach and as she says in each of her episodes, her listeners now have a coach in their back pocket. She’s real and shares a lot of personal struggles she has endured, choices she has made, and how she has come out a better person because of these experiences.

Nikki
Nikki was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she has lived in Seattle and Portland. After visiting New Orleans, she fell in love with the city, and she and her husband decided to take a chance and move from the PNW to NOLA. Nikki has two kids, Amaya (16) and Tyson (13), she and her husband Dave have been married for 16 years, they live on the Northshore. Nikki works full time as a NICU nurse. Nikki and her family have fully embraced the culture of New Orleans, while they live on the Northshore, they play in New Orleans as often as they can.
