I know, I know. You probably read that and thought to yourself “what is she talking about?!” I making an Anti-Resolution. Instead of focusing on what I will do this year, I’m going to focus on what I won’t do.
I read this quote last week, “stop saying yes to things you hate” and it made me think. Maybe my Anti-Resolution should be saying no. I’m saying that that I hate things, but I realized that it is not necessary to do everything and make it to every event. That’s how you burn out, and more importantly, it causes stress. The first step is to think about some of the ways you may be making your life harder and stop doing it. There’s your Anti-Resolution.
We all know that the New Year’s Diet is a big one. When you make an Anti-Resolution, you are saying that you won’t body shame yourself. We all do it. I just spoke to a friend the other day about wanting lyposuction and a tummy tuck … well if I’m being honest … a full mommy makeover if I can get it! An Anti-Resolution means that I will embrace my curves. I can still pursue a healthier lifestyle, but I won’t stress myself out about it.
So here’s a few things that I plan to do less of in 2019:
1. Saying yes to everything
We’ve covered this one. I will sacrifice less in 2019. When you are making someone else happy, you have to make sure that you aren’t neglecting yourself.
2. Overthinking
My mind is always going. I overthink everything and that causes the most stress. In 2019, “it is what it is.”
3. Not wanting help
This is a big one. I like to have control of everything. This year, I will have a business partner!
4. Rushing
For the past 3 years (yes I blame Mojo), I’ve been rushing out of the house. In 2019, I will wake up earlier!
