I adore personalized gifts – both giving and receiving them. I try to get special gifts tailored to the people I love whenever I can. When one of my best friends asked me to be in her wedding, she presented me with an engraved necklace with my first initial and my birthstone. I wore it often. They still wear them, and they still look exactly alike, so we use this as a line of defense when our other identification methods fail! When you have your first baby, you get so much stuff. Stuff you need, stuff you think you need and stuff you really don’t need. When the girls came along, my sister-in-law asked if she could build charm bracelets for the girls for the first few years of gift-giving occasions when they really didn’t need much stuff. I emphatically told her yes-I knew they would treasure those bracelets when they were old enough to wear them. They have birthday charms, birth stone charms, baptism charms, and Christmas charms. I can’t wait to see the girls wear them on their chubby little wrists in a couple of years.
