What Men Crave {Part 1}

Please note :: this post precedes a second post on men’s work.

What Men Crave

If there’s one thing I’ve learned while working with men for the past 7 years, it’s that men have a deep desire to live big, bold, and exceptional lives.

They want to live lives that are exciting and deeply fulfilling.

They want to feel that their efforts are in service of a deep life purpose.

They yearn to have the kind of love life and sex that shatters windows and shakes the earth.

They want to experience deeply loving and devotional adoration from their partners.

They want to be free to love their partners fully with the entire width of their hearts.

And they want to feel that they are powerful and trustworthy in their own right within business and life.

With all of this being said, quite a few men are feeling like their lives are falling short of what they could be and they’re not sure why.

It’s from no shortage of trying. Frankly, many of us weren’t taught how to achieve the best that life has to offer. We may have inherited some combination of skills in business and life, however, what’s often the case is that we weren’t taught the basic foundations of emotional intelligence and how to foster relationships that are deeply loving and nourishing.

Whatever the case, we’re left trying to do our best to live the lives we want and this is precisely where men’s work, in the vein that I practice and lead, comes in. Imagine it as an emotional and relational training in service of up-leveling one’s life.

See, here’s the thing. (I’m looking at you, Men) It’s entirely possible to live the life of your dreams.

In fact, much of what we currently live is just shy of excellence.

We’ve got the jobs, the wife, the kids, and yet something is off.

For the men that I work with it’s some combination of a mindset shift, a deepening of emotional intelligence and emotional capacity, and a new set of possibilities that emerge from the work that brings men into deeper understandings and experiences within life.

The impact that this has on the women in their lives is often a night and day change. Imagine feeling like your man feels you? Imagine he’s not trying to fix your feelings, or defend his, every time you bring something up? Imagine living with a man who lights your body up with his presence and his desire for you.

This is what it means to be a conscious man in 2021 and beyond. This is what it means to bring more enthusiasm and depth to relationships and our lives.

There are hundreds of thousands of men who are diving into this kind of work across the world and it’s shifting the paradigm of masculinity and it’s some of the most important work men can be doing.

It’s exactly the work that leads to us raising our boys with more awareness and a deeper purpose, as well as a respect for women.

It’s work that has the potential to impact generations, simply by changing and deepening our way of being.
