4th of July Family Friendly Events and Fun in New Orleans by Date
June 30th
Slidell Heritage Festival at Heritage Park – Bring your chairs and come hungry to the festival. There will plenty of music and food in addition to an expanded children’s area which will include prizes. The festival is from 4pm-11pm. The fireworks start at 9pm.
Fourth of July Celebration at the Land-O-Pines Family Campground – The weekend campground activities include: a band Sunday night, fireworks with a D.J. on Tuesday night, tournaments, a golf cart parade, poker run, hayrides, daily bingo, games and more! The water slide is open late on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday nights. Reservations are required. There is a 4-night minimum (3-night minimum on regular campsites). (June 29-30 and July 1-4)
Bayou Country Children’s Museum First Annual Freedom Carnival – BCCM is holding its first freedom carnival. There will be carnival games, a photo booth, food and drinks. $5 admission 10am-2pm
Light Up the Lake :: An Independence Day Celebration – Celebrate Independence Day with the City of Mandeville on the lakefront with our Annual Light Up the Lake event. Entertainment on the stage begins at 6:00 p.m. with a special military tribute, Groovy 7 and fireworks over the lake at dusk. Kids can enjoy the Keep Mandeville Beautiful Kid’s Tent and Old Mandeville Business Association Food Court opens at 5:00 p.m. with picnic food for purchase. Picnics on the lake can begin at 10:00 a.m. No charcoal grills or glass containers allowed. Rain Date: Sunday, July 1st
July 3rd
Uncle Sam Jam –There will be a concert, with fireworks. Live DJs will play in the afternoon and there will be live concerts at night. Please bring your chair and blankets. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Lafreniere Park. 3pm-9pm
Sparks in the Park – Bring your chairs, picnic baskets and blankets to Bogue Falaya Wayside Park in Covington from 7pm-9pm for this free event. There will be patriotic music, face painting and fireworks. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Happy 3rd of July – City Park is holding a patriotic celebration from 6pm-9:30pm. The Marine Corp Band will play music and fireworks will be set off on top of the Peristyle. Please bring blankets and chairs to this free event.
July 4th
4th Fest in Crescent Park – Bring chairs and a blanket and enjoy the fireworks barges on the Mississippi River. There will live music and food and drink to purchase. The event lasts from 5pm-10pm.
Feed the Multitudes Free Food Festival – Victory Fellowship is holding its annual FREE food festival from 10am-3pm. They will be serving jambalaya, BBQ chicken, red beans & rice, watermelon, and snowballs. They will also have a shoe giveaway, free haircuts, free manicures, live music and more! July 4th Fireworks Cruise on the Steamboat Natchez – The Steamboat Natchez invites you to join them on a special 4th of July cruise featuring the best seats in town to watch the “symphony in the sky”. The cruise features a delicious BBQ Buffet, free beer, wine & soda, and a local DJ spinning your favorite tunes. It costs $99 for adults and $50 for children ages 6-12, $25 for kids ages 2-5. Boarding starts at 6:30 pm and cruising lasts from 7:30pm-9:30pm. There are two dinner seating times to choose from – 6:30 pm and 7:45 pm.
Go 4th on the River – This is a free, one of a kind, dueling barges fireworks display along the New Orleans riverfront that starts at 9pm. Bring your blanket and chair. This is a true New Orleans tradition.
