It’s a great time of year to support your community AND feed your family without having to heat up your kitchen! Stop by one of these local churches and charities to pick up your Friday dinner at a local fish fry.

Some of these offer drive thru service and almost all offer take out. Beyond fried fish, there is a great variety in some menus. Some churches even offer both lunch and dinner times! Also, most of them take cash only, so don’t forget to stop at the ATM on your way.

New Orleans

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and School (6249 Canal Blvd.) – Drive thru fish fry March 25th from 4-7PM. No walk ups or dining in.

St. Gabriel the Archangel (4700 Pineda Street) – Every Friday in Lent except Good Friday from 11AM-7PM, dine in or take out.

Metairie and Kenner

Our Lady of Divine Mercy (4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Kenner.) – All Fridays of lent except Good Friday, 11AM-7PM. Knights of Columbus are dishing up their famous fried fish plate w/ crinkle cut fries, corn on the cob, & dinner roll for only $12 per plate (soft drinks / water also available for $1).  Simply drive up outside the Parish Community Center between 11am and 7pm (building is north of the Sanctuary) and we’ll get you all set with a great lunch or dinner!

St. Angela Merici (901 Beverly Garden) – Friday Lenten Fish Fry March 11, 25 and April 8th.

Our Lady of Divine Providence (1000 N. Starrett) – Drive thru every Friday in Lent! Fried fish platters and crawfish pies.

St. Ann Church (3601 Transcontinental Drive) – St. Ann Men’s Club and Knights of Columbus Fish Fry every Friday in Lent. Fried fish and fried shrimp.

St. Benilde Men’s Club Fish Fry (1901 Division Street) – March 11th, 25th and April 8th from 5:30-7PM.

St. Matthew United Methodist Church (6017 Camphor St) – March 4th, 12th and 25th from 4:30-7PM.

St. Clement of Rome (4317 Richland Avenue) – Men’s Club Lenten Friday Fish Fry will be drive thru and dine in this year. Fridays March 11th-April 1st.

St. Francis Xavier Knights of Columbus (444 Metairie Road, Metairie) – March 11th from 5:30-8:30PM in the school cafeteria. Dine in and takeout available.

St. Catherine of Siena Church Men’s Club (105 Bonnabel Blvd.) – March 18th and 25th from 5:30-7:30PM. Fried fish, fried shrimp and soft shell crab will be available for purchase.


Westwego Volunteer Fire Department (677 Avenue H, Westwego) – Every Friday in Lent from 5-8PM. Dine in and takeout.

St. Cletus Catholic Church (3600 Claire Ave, Gretna) – Fish, Oyster, and Shrimp
Plates and Po-Boys will be available for purchase every Friday during Lent except on Good Friday in the KC Hall from 5PM – 8PM.

St. Andrew the Apostle (3101 Elton Street, Algiers) – Every Friday in Lent from 5-8PM. Fish, shrimp, gumbo and cheese pizza will be for sale along with homemade desserts.

Visitation of Our Lady (3500 Ames Boulevard, Marrero) – Every Friday during Lent except Good Friday. Multiple items for sale including fish, shrimp, seafood stuffed potatoes, broiled fish and more! Cash, checks, Venmo, Google Pay, credit cards and Apple Pay accepted.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help (8698 Highway 23, Belle Chase) – Every Friday during from 5:30-8PM except Good Friday. Drive thru service only and catfish platters will be for sale.


Mary, Queen Of Peace (1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville) – Every Friday during Lent except Good Friday from 5-7:30PM. Takeout or dine in, credit cards accepted.

Our Lady of the Lake Knights of Columbus (312 Lafitte St, Mandeville) – Every Friday during Lent except Good Friday from 5-7:30PM. Dine in or carry out.

St. Anselm (306 St. Mary Street, Madisonville) – Every Friday during Lent except Good Friday from 4 – 8pm.

Mary is a caffeine addicted boy mom to Noah, Liam and Luke. This “stay at home” mom can typically been found cruising in her minivan, jamming to Beyonce with a Starbucks in hand on her way to carpool or after school activities.   1. This says fish fry around New Orleans, but there’s not one place in New Orleans that’s listed???!!! And I know there’s plenty!!! Even your Westbank list is missing one of the best ones Our Lady of Visitation on Ames.
