I love to take pictures. They create memories while telling a beautiful story of what made a photo. Therefore, in my opinion, taking a mommy and me photo is necessary.
I always enjoy capturing moments, but I never thought I would consider taking mommy and me photo sessions.
During the planning process, I had a blast working with my photographer, she was understanding of my vision, and captured it perfectly. I decided to do a Nola-style Princess and the Frog theme. I was older than Tiana while my daughter was younger Tiana. We had a great time walking through the French Quarter posing for the camera, seeing all the beauty of the city, and enjoying each other, while capturing the moment.
Why You Need to Do a Mommy and Me photo Session
Pictures say a lot. You can feel the love, emotions, and passion in a photo. The bond between a child and a parent is amazing. You both learn from each other, as that can be something you bring into your photo
You can role-play and become characters from your favorite movies or books that you enjoy together. I loved this, I never thought I could be creative enough to put together our outfits let alone express my vision in a way that the photographer could capture; she did it beautifully.
They make great conversation starters.
They build memories that will last a lifetime. Years to come the photos you share will hold memories that I’m sure you and your child(ren) will be talking about forever.
You are actually in the photos. So many times as moms we stand behind the camera. This time you are front row center, and you can showcase your love and emotions for your child.
It is all in good fun. Mommy and Me photos are all about celebrating the journey of parenthood and a bond between a child and parent. Becoming a parent, we sacrifice a lot. However, the beauty of being a parent is the journey. You’ve learned so much about what is needed to keep this tiny human alive.
They make beautiful greeting / holiday cards. Your Mommy and Me photos can make beautiful birthday cards, well wishes, or fun “thinking of you” cards for any friend or family. They make great gifts for grandparents. A few great companies that can great a book or card are Shutterfly, Chat Books, Walgreens, or your photographer (if they offer that service).
I believe Mommy and Me photos are just overall fun. I love that I can have these moments that I won’t get back with my daughter, but she can pass that on to her kids later on in life. It means a lot to me, only because I never had the chance to do this with my mom. So I feel like I’m starting a trend in my family. I do plan to do more sessions when she gets older, so we can see how much we’ve both learned from each other.
