To The Mom Who …

As I sit here and reminisce on the last two weeks, I realize how many times I have truly questioned myself as a mother. I’ve questioned if my kids are happy, if I’m being too hard on them, I wonder if I’m totally screwing them up… all because the stress and anxiety that is and has been overflowing my cup has caused me to be irritable and beyond high strung.

With my stress level being a 97 out of 10, I feel like the smallest gesture or kind word, letting me know that I am not completely alone in my daily circus, and that someone recognizes that I am truly doing the best I can, could bring my stress and anxiety level to  a 25 out of 10 … minimum.

So, here it goes …

To the mom who feels guilt beyond measure for yelling at her kids over something small …

To the mom picking up McDonald’s after spending 2 hours and $300 at the grocery while fighting her toddler to stay in the basket so she could get through the store quickly and now can’t even imagine cooking …

To the mom whose child threw a tantrum that caused you to physically have to calm them which was more of a workout than your previous 5 sessions at the gym combined …

To the mom who is frustrated and upset with herself for taking a much needed nap following a sleepless night instead of going to the gym for that hour …

To the mom of a child with special needs, who knows every time she has to talk to the teacher when picking up her child that today just wasn’t their day …

To the mom whose heart breaks when dropping off her kids at school before care and picking them up from after care …

To the mom who just wants one freaking thing to herself, so she tells her child the ice cream she’s eating is “spicy” so that she wont have to share …

To the single mom struggling to make ends meet …

To the mom hiding in the bathroom, so no one sees her crying …

To the mom whose kids won’t sit still for even 36 seconds …

To the mom trying to work from home while home / remote schooling her children …

To the mom running on a short fuse and ready to explode at the slightest thing …

To the mom who questions what she was thinking when she decided she wanted to be a mom …

To the mom whose 2 year old has been screaming for the last 2 hours because they have an ear infection and doesn’t know how to communicate his/her emotions …

To the mom whose house is a complete disaster …

To the mom who feels like life will never come together like she wants it to …

To the mom who feels like she has no control …

To the mom who feels nothing but defeat ….

To the mom who feels like she will never be enough ….

Take a DEEEEEEPPPPPP breath, your kids will be totally FINE! No matter what you think, you WILL NOT be listed on the FBIs “worst moms ever” list (main reason is because that doesn’t actually exist). Your kids still love you and think the world of you.

Eventually, all of your duckies will fall in line, and you’ll wonder what you were so stressed and upset about to begin with. The house will get clean, homework will get done, your kid will learn that ice cream isn’t actually spicy and you’ll have to share (and this will be such a disappointing day), and everything will end up exactly how it’s supposed to be.

Remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE in your feelings … no matter how great of a mother anyone seems to be, each and every one of us has felt AT LEAST one of these in our lives. I’m here to tell you … you mama, are doing an amazing job! You are killing it at the mom game. Don’t ever let yourself be your worst critic, you got this … and you WILL make it through.
