My Favorite Things :: A Mardi Gras Parody

Fanny pack ready and glitter on my face,

Setting my tent up to hold down the best space,

Neutral ground spots all marked off with strings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Stocking the ice chest and driving thru Popeyes,

I’m so excited I’ve been up since sunrise,

Sitting in traffic, I wish I had wings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Tipping the flambeauxs and dancing to St. Aug,

Beautiful Sunday at Barkus with my dog,

Doubloons are flying and landing with pings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

When the rain starts, when the floats break, and I’m feeling sad,

I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad.

Wishing for purses and sparkle-y shoes,

I cannot wait for all the super-krewes,

Anticipating those chosen as kings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Do Whatcha Wanna and Mardi Gras Mambo,

Me and New Orleans are the perfect combo,

Different cultures that everyone brings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Hoping for coconuts over at Zulu,

Fresh coat of paint makes my ladder box brand new,

Sweet Caroline plays and the whole crowd sings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

When my bag breaks, when my drink spills, lost the koozie I had,

I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad.
