2016 New Orleans Area Restaurant Bucket List

“Where do you want to go?”

“I don’t know. Where do YOU want to go?”

That is how every one of our monthly(ish) date night conversations sound. To help avoid the same conversation over and over again, I have compiled a list of restaurants I would like to visit in 2016. Some of them I’ve tried and loved, others are either new to NOLA or new to me! I hope this helps others who suffer from the “where shall we eat” dilemma.

This Year’s Restaurant Bucket List

{In no particular order}

Ancora: A while back I saw a photo of the Crab Gnocchi from Ancora on EatingNOLA’s Instagram. Since then, I’ve been trying to get there, but you know, life. I will have it before 2016 ends though.

backyard restaurantThe Backyard: Have a dinner out somewhere the kids are entertained? That’s the dream!

Mizado: Admittedly, I’ve been here before. However, I love it, and they are home to what I’d consider the best guacamole ever.

Oak Oven: I love that more and more farm-to-table type restaurants are coming to NOLA. This menu looks amazing, and I will definitely visit this little Harahan gem in 2016.

Liberty’s Kitchen: Not only do they have a delicious looking menu, but there is a fantastic mission to go along with it. Liberty’s Kitchen is dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable New Orleans youth.

Fogo De Chao: This brand new restaurant downtown has been on my list since I first heard of it while visiting Dallas. Thrilled to see them in New Orleans and can’t wait to visit!!

Atchafalaya: Bloody Mary Bar. Enough said.

2016restaurants

Fry Bar: Another one I’ve already tried, but we have to try it again. And again. The thing is, it is hard to know in advance where they’ll be unless you stalk them on social media. Can you please just deliver me some of those Garlic Rosemary Fries?

Ox Lot 9: Located in historic Covington, this charming bistro has a divine looking brunch menu!

Cellar Door: Beautiful and historical, this definitely looks like a great place for an anniversary dinner or to celebrate another occasion. OR, maybe I’ll go on Sunday night for C.I.N. (Creative Industry Night); bloggers count, right?

Arabella Casa Di Pasta: With nerdy, punny names like BOBA FETTuccinni and a “create your own pasta” option, this place pretty much tops my bucket list!!

Boulevard American Bistro: I grew up frequenting Houston’s on Veterans and was super bummed when they closed. Now, however, there is a new restaurant with a delicious sounding menu!

Any other restaurants I need to add? What are some places you want to check out this year?
