Summer Sip and Shop Recap
Last Thursday night over 100 local women gathered at Friedrichs Square to sip, shop and eat their way through the Green Fork, Feet First and Lovejoy Day Spa! As moms it is HARD to get out of the house, but always oh so worth it. We love giving New Orleans area moms the opportunity and excuse to dress up, leave the kids behind and kick back for a few hours.
The food courtesy of The Green Fork was divine. Small bites were offered in tasting portions, and we heard rave reviews about the chicken salad and gazpacho in particular. Love Juice Martinis were poured, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.
Lovejoy Day Spa was so generous to provide VIP massages for 25 moms and was hosting eye makeovers as well. There aren’t many problems in the world that a good massage can’t solve. Plus, just walking into Jackie’s spa is heavenly … you’re met with the soft scents of lavender and the stress starts to fade away.
We ended the evening at Feet First with the giveaway drawings and moms staying way past the end of the party to try on shoes and purchase their chosen accessories. It was fun to select sunglasses, watches, shoes and whimsical t-shirts without little ones pulling on our legs. Plus most of us are a little more edgy with our fashion statements after a few glasses of wine … which is a good thing!
We also want to give a very special thanks to all of the companies that made our night even more enjoyable :: Naked Pizza of Metairie, Girls Gone Vegan, Jambalaya Girl, Ellen L and Big Easy Bucha. We are still talking about that pizza and jambalaya (for real), and we heard some moms considering Girls Gone Vegan for their upcoming birthday parties!
What’s an event without swag? Our VIP guests especially appreciated their massages via Lovejoy Day Spa, the triple bundtini towers via Nothing Bundt Cake of Metairie and the candles via Trapp Candles. And every single mom walked out with a bar of Cakeface Soaping’s Postman … one of our very favorite local vendors.
Last, but certainly not least … thank you to all who attended and brought diapers for the Junior League of New Orleans Diaper Bank! Hundreds of diapers were collected, and we know that those who receive them will really appreciate it! If you are looking to contribute in the future don’t forget that Feet First is a collection location!
