Atomic Burger: Family Friendly Dining in Metairie {Sponsored Review and Giveaway}

Disclosure: We’re always on the hunt for affordable and family friendly dining in the New Orleans area. While Atomic Burger treated our team to free meals, we were really excited to check it out and share our thoughts with you.

Last week the New Orleans Moms blog was happy to be invited to try out the newest burger joint in Metairie, The Atomic Burger. The Atomic Burger is located right past Cleary on Veterans. Their menu consists of burgers, sliders, hot dogs, fries and shakes. The other moms and I were very excited to check out this new family friendly joint.

DSC_9722In anticipation of our first visit, the blog put out a few Facebook posts and tweets to our followers and asked for items that we must try. The biggest recommendations were the jamburger slider, the edamame and the salted caramel shake. We were happy to see that in addition to the classic french fry side that they also offered a healthy alternative: edamame.

Upon walking into the restaurant, I noticed how clean and tidy it was. There were plenty of tables and quite a few high chairs. I always feel like there are never enough high chairs at restaurants so this momma of 2 was happy to see there were many to use. Two thumbs up!

The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable about their menu, answered any questions and were very accommodating to special requests with our orders. While waiting for our order, many of our team members checked out the liquid nitrogen milkshake machine. It was so neat!

DSC_9729Among our team we pretty much sampled the whole menu. The burgers, which are made from fresh and natural ingredients that are ground in house daily, were awesome! They had a very fresh taste and were a nice alternative to many franchised burger joints. In addition to the classic hamburgers and sliders, they also have a turkey burger on the menu. The turkey burger was a hit with those who ordered it. It was refreshing to see a healthy choice on the menu.

We had the chance to sample both the fries and the edamame. The fries are cut by hand and were delicious! The edamame were a favorite among our team as well. I suggest getting a small order of each and sharing among your table.

DSC_9741There is no better way to end a meal with a burger than with a milkshake, right? At Atomic Burger, their atomic freeze milkshakes are made by using liquid nitrogen. You have to come and check this out for yourself because it’s really cool. Their milkshakes are equally as delicious as they are creamy. I tried out the wedding cake milkshake but the favorite among our team was the salted caramel. A tip: we were told that you can combine flavors for an even yummier treat! Chocolate salted caramel milkshake, anyone?

 The New Orleans Moms blog truly enjoyed our meal at the Atomic Burger so much that most of us have gone back this week with our families to give it the ultimate kid stamp of approval. I took my extremely picky and hard to please 5 year old on Friday. He ordered the classic slider with fries and it didn’t disappoint; a quickly devoured meal by my 5 year old equals a win in my book.

They also have a drive thru, which is super convenient on nights when dining in isn’t an option. Please let us know what is your favorite shake flavor and what your kiddos enjoy!

We are also thrilled to offer one of you the chance to win $25 to Atomic Burger to treat your own family to an evening out!
