Why I Shop on Black Friday

Just as many Black Friday ads you see, you also see the exact amount of backlash on reasons on why not to shop on Black Friday. While I can totally see both sides of the coin, I am one of the people who truly enjoy shopping on Black Friday, whether it be in stores or online. Before you start getting upset, just hear me out.

While I won’t be leaving the dinner table to run out to Toys R Us to be the first in line among the crowds, I will; however, be searching the ads for the must have items on my gift list at the best available discounts. It has become a bit of a tradition for me to search the ads for the jaw dropping discounts and making a master plan to get the must have items.Let's go shopping!

A friend of mine and I have shopped the past few years, and besides getting great deals, we have such a fun time searching for our items. Once we have enjoyed our delicious Thanksgiving dinner and tucked our little ones into bed, we then head out for a night of fun. We usually put on a silly pair of Christmas headbands (I prefer the reindeer ones) and then head out to Starbucks to load up on caffeine for the upcoming night ahead.

With comical holiday headwear, comfy clothes and our holiday lattes in hands, we set out on our Black Friday extravaganza! We have some holiday music blaring, and we whiz around town from store to store in search for the deals we have circled in our ads. We are moms on a mission, and there is some excitement walking through the stores in the dead of night with a couple hundred other people. The holiday buzz is contagious!

We quite literally “shop till we drop” and have our mommy mobile filled with tons of presents with killer discounts. It’s a night I look forward to not only get my shopping started (or over with!) but to start of the holiday season with a friend. While I understand Black Friday isn’t for everyone, my friend and I truly enjoy it!

So what do you say? Are you a Black Friday shopper or do you avoid it like the plague? Tell us!

  1. I started Black Friday shopping a few years ago with my mother in law and sister in law. It has been the reason we have gotten so close. We laugh until we cry the whole time. It’s my most favorite holiday tradition!
