Toast :: A New Family Friendly Breakfast Spot In Gretna

breakfast at TOAST

If you have never been to Toast, which has two locations in New Orleans, you must run to their new Gretna spot! I was finally able to make it there yesterday and it definitely did not disappoint.

Named for its delectable selection of different styles of toast, the menu has a wide variety of thick, Texas style toast topped with everything from avocado to ratatouille. We tried the mushroom & bacon toast and it was absolutely delicious! They also have a wide variety of omelets and crepes – neither of which were getting passed up. All of the food came out quickly, was super fresh, and it was SO good. They have breakfast and brunch style entrees as well, along with Aebelskivers; a puffed pancake with powdered sugar that you dip into different sauces. There is something for everyone, and they even have a small kids menu.

Speaking of kids – this place is a parent’s dream! With covered seating outside, they also have a play area. Enclosed with a beautifully painted brick mural, it is a safe space where you will be okay to chat and know the kids are still right there. There is a bar located back there as well (liquor license will becoming soon!) and I see many brunch dates in the future. All of the staff was super friendly and you can tell that they really enjoy where they work.

Toast is offering the perfect space to be able to relax, grab a delicious bite to eat, and it is so family friendly! The Gretna location gets 5 stars all the way around and we can’t wait to go back.

Toast Gretna is located at 1711 Hancock Street and is open Monday-Friday 6:30 am to 2:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
