A Much Needed Outing :: Porch & Patio

Now that the world is starting to become somewhat normal, a few of us decided that we wanted to sit outside, listen to some music, eat crawfish, and enjoy a beverage or three. My investigation skills came into focus and my research began. I started with the Facebook Events page. As someone who is a homebody and would much rather be in her house than anywhere else, I needed somewhere to start. I looked and a lot of stuff is still virtual. I mean, I am ok with doing a cooking class online or a cocktail mixing class, but I was wanting to actually go out and do something.

I came across a little place in Rivertown in good ole Kennabra called Porch and Patio. I am sure I am super late to the party, but it had all the things I was looking for. Outside, check. Live music, check. Crawfish, check. HAPPY HOUR DRINKS, check check check!

We planned to go on a Friday and got there before Happy Hour ended, which is from 4 pm – 6 pm. I got two delicious margaritas. There are plenty of spots to sit with tables that are wonderfully spread out to keep with social distancing measures. People also brought their own chairs to be able to just relax and listen to live music again. Dogs are also welcomed to join in on the fun.

It was a great time, I felt like I needed to go out. I needed to be around people again. The music was nice, the food was good, and the overall atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. We all had a great time, may have been over-served, and enjoyed the little things that we took advantage of pre-pandemic.

What are some places you have found recently that are opening back up and providing you with the much-needed outing?
