The DinnerBelle (easy weeknight dinner solution!) – Giveaway

Do you know what heaven looks like to an overextended working mom to a toddler with another one on the way? No? Let me show you.

The DinnerBelle delivers ready-to-cook meals to doorsteps across the greater New Orleans area.

The DinnerBelle by Cami is a pretty simple concept: you go online, choose your items (you select from main dishes, which come with sides, and even soups, salads and dessert are available) and then check out. I highly recommend signing up for their weekly email blasts (which arrive on Thursdays; orders are accepted until 10:00pm on Friday), as it may hit your inbox at that perfect time when you just don’t have it in you to think about dinner for the following week. On the day that you’re expecting a delivery, you leave an ice chest on your front step (unless you will be home between 2:00 and 6:30pm). The items arrive packaged and ready to throw in the oven, complete with instructions. It’s truly mindless and so very easy for those nights where you know that you’ll be working late or that the kids’ soccer practice and dance rehearsals will keep you from preparing a home-cooked meal. No more fast food stops or frantic defrosting of pizza at 7:00pm – brilliant!

When you’re ready to prepare dinner, you literally preheat the oven and then throw everything in; I particularly enjoyed the fact that all 3 of our items required a similar heating time AND temperature.

Cami was sweet enough to bring my family the pecan crusted chicken with bourbon brown sugar reduction, which is served with baked potato casserole and green beans. Everything was truly delicious, and I’d describe this particular meal as comfort food. I even said to my husband, “how delicious would this have tasted right after we brought Thatcher home from the hospital?!?” DinnerBelle is a perfect solution for families you know in the New Orleans area that have just welcomed new babies, and it would also be really nice for friends that may be going through medical issues or other hard times. Nothing says “I care” like a home-cooked meal on a loved one’s doorstep. Cami delivers to the following neighborhoods: Lakeview, Lakefront, Mid-City, Metairie, Old Metairie, River Ridge, Kenner, Destrehan, CBD, Warehouse District and Uptown.

The meal we received was MORE than enough for 2 adults to eat over the course of 2 days (it contained 4 chicken breasts and ample servings of 2 sides, as well as unnecessary but scrumptious brownies).

Cami, a mother of two herself, is offering two lucky readers a $25 gift certificate! My experience with The DinnerBelle was really positive (I mean, she even has a cute delivery van!) and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

  1. The hardest thing about getting dinner on the table for our family is that both of us are high school coaches and we barely get home before 6pm. Thank goodness for awesome grandparents that are willing to pick up the grandkids everyday!!!

  2. Nursing school and two kids at home is rough. dad works nights so it is just us and I cave to fast or frozen more than I should. I could use a great healthier alternative.
