Dough Nguyener’s Bakery :: A New Vietnamese Bakery In Gretna

If you haven’t tried king cake from Dough Nguyener’s Bakery, let me tell you – you are missing out. The great news is after two years of teasing us with their delicious creations, Dough Nguyener’s brick and mortar location is now open in Gretna! The new Vietnamese bakery hosted guests for their soft opening on March 17th and the buzz is they did not disappoint.

Bringing A Fresh Bakery to Gretna

Founder Betty Archote (maiden name Nguyen – hence the play on the name) is not new to this industry. You may have been to her other popular restaurants like Thanh Thanh or Huey P’s Pizzeria which has three locations. Dough Nguyener’s Bakery is sure to be just as big of hit, where we will see a brilliant blend of American and Vietnamese dishes.

A Nguyening Menu

Being a bakery of course you can find all the staple items from doughnuts to kolaches to beignets, but you can also find unique items like a Vietnamese baguette or a banh bao (a soft steamed bun). Their drink menu has a wide array of coffee drinks, teas, iced boba teas, and even specialty cocktails! The full daily menu consists of small plates, salads, big plates, sandwiches, and what is sure to be one of their staples; the Nguyener Crispy Chicken. They offer bahn mi sandwiches served on a house made Vietnamese baguette, and also bun mi, which you guessed it – are served on fresh buns. From the Shrimp Toast to the Las Chicas to their signature “Nguyener Nguyener Chicken Dinner” (a whole fried chicken with Szechuan noodles, kimchi, baked mac and cheese, traditional coleslaw, baguette, and house garlic dipping sauce) – we cannot wait to try it all.

With drive through and dine in, stop by Dough Nguyener’s Bakery to treat yourself to any of their delicious offerings!
