Coffee and Cocktails in Covington at The Haven

Coffee and Cocktails in Covington at The Haven

Earlier this year, my husband and I went on a dinner date night in downtown Covington. We finished dinner earlier than expected and weren’t quite ready to relieve the babysitter, so we decided to search for a local coffee shop. Our internet search suggested The Haven, which was just a few blocks away, so we decided to check it out. It has since become one of our favorite places.

The Haven’s atmosphere is like a modern Central Perk with a library vibe. The counter is in the center of the shop, with indoor seating on either side and an outdoor patio. You can choose from tables, window bars, and comfy couches and chairs in each seating area. During the day, it is a great place to chat with friends or catch up on work, and in the evenings, you can often catch live music.

The Haven serves its own in-house coffee, Northshore Specialty Coffee, which they craft into delicious hot coffees, cold coffees, and pour-overs. If you can’t decide, you can order a coffee flight, and if you really enjoy the coffee, you can buy a bag to brew at home. In addition to coffee, the Haven also has a great tea collection. I can never decide whether I want to try something new or go with one of my favorites.

But The Haven doesn’t just sell coffee; they also have cocktails, including cocktails on draft like the Pineapple Daiquiri and the Banana Bread Old Fashioned. They also have made-to-order cocktails, wine, beer, and mocktails, and ,as with their coffees, you can order flights if you can’t decide.

Whether you stop by for coffee, cocktails, or drinks, you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to partake of the enjoyable food options. Their bakery items include massive muffins, filled croissants, and our personal favorite, homemade pop tarts with unique flavors. If you’re looking for something a little more savory, they offer breakfast, lunch, and “after-hours” options. The French Toast is easy to overindulge on and the Gouda Grits are very flavorful. Their flatbread and salads are also delectable, and my husband and I have a long list of other items we want to try. They also always have something new on the special board.

Whether you’re looking to catch up over coffee, meet for lunch to chat, or grab drinks with friends, the Haven is a great place to relax and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and company.
