Another Hidden Gem :: Eedo’s Restaurant

This one is far for me, since I live on the Westbank, but I came across Eedo’s Restaurant when I joined my family after attending the Krewe of Nefertiti Parade in the East.

It was our first time attending the parade, as it’s a fairly new event, having started in 2020, out in the East. Since I was aware of it, I had always wanted to check it out. However, after the parade, we decided to find somewhere to eat. I don’t go out to the East often, because it’s so far out from where I live, and I don’t know of many places to go. It was suggested that we go to Eedo’s, and since it was a Sunday, they do close early, so we had to hurry and get they.

Nothing short of amazing

eedo's restaurantWalking in, you can tell that this place is locally owned. It was very intimate; I mean the owner is the one greeting and chatting with their guest. He was so down-to-earth and welcoming and that is something I look for in a restaurant most of the time. The environment plays a big part in a dining experience.

The Menu

Eedo’s serves everything New Orleans, including gumbo, red beans, stewed okra …. you name it, they have it. Everyone I was with ordered different foods, so I was able to taste a few things. I even tried the stewed okra, and I CANNOT STAND okra, but it was so good! So that should count for something. I had the fried fish plate, and it was seasoned and fried to perfection.

As for the drinks, they have freshly made lemonade. I got the strawberry lemonade; I’ll just say that add a little rum or some Malibu, and you will have the best cocktail ever.

Everything is kid-friendly, so bring your family! I have a picky eater, so I can definitely vouch for the approval for the picky eaters out there. You can’t go wrong.

I’ll leave you with this: try it out, and if I’m wrong, please let me know. But like I always say, you don’t know until you try!

Have you been to Eedo’s? Will you try them? Let me know in the comments

  1. My second time today. The BEST ‘pot cooked’ food. Pot roast so tender! It was good on my first visit I had to get it again. It’s only served on Sunday. The sweet potatoes are on point! My daughter ordered white beans and grilled pork chops. She said it was so good! Her first time there. Service was amazing and staff pleasant and accommodating. Seasoning used properly. That’s good home cooking in those big ‘pots’.
