The Jung Hotel & Residences – New Orleans Hotel Collection

This past weekend, I had the privilege of a mini-getaway to the beautiful new Jung Hotel and Residences – New Orleans Hotel Collection as part of the Louisiana Moms Blog Team Retreat. Our teams from New Orleans Moms Blog, Red Stick Moms Blog, and Lafayette Moms Blog gathered together for two days of team building and relaxation. Located on the streetcar line of Canal Street, this historical hotel has been revived with modern and luxurious touches. The hotel’s old charm meets new clean lines, and the architectural details are swoon-worthy. I want those squiggly lobby light fixtures in my house!

The hotel has a neat history you can red about here, dating back to the 1920’s. Now a part of the New Orleans Hotel Collection, it’s a part of the same family of hotels as the Dauphine Orleans, the Bourbon Orleans, and the Whitney Hotel, among others.

The guest rooms are huge and have one of the biggest hotel bathrooms I have ever gotten to experience. The color palette was relaxing and the decor was A+. A really large TV and a mini-fridge tucked away into an art deco cabinet were fun bonuses that awaited me when I checked into my room. The beds were fluffy and exactly what I needed to enjoy a quiet night all to myself sans kids, though I will consider bringing my husband along next time.

The meeting rooms were modern and spacious. I need to know which grey they painted on the walls, because it’s the perfect shade and I want it on my walls at home. (Why is grey SO hard to get right?) The staff was courteous and friendly, and there to help, often before we could even ask for it.

But the pièce de résistance was that rooftop pool, y’all. Surrounded by a gorgeous patio space that overlooks Canal Street, there’s a poolside bar, and even a handicap-access pool chair. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after dinner. You can rent the pool area for a reception or dinner event. I can only imagine how lovely it must be up there in October with a fabulous fall breeze.

The VIP lounge is a fun option for a small event like a baby or wedding shower. It has an indoor-outdoor space with a bar and plenty of comfy seating. The views aren’t bad up there, either.

There’s a sleek bar in the lobby, a restaurant, and a coffee shop that serves Abita Roasting Company coffee. If you’re looking to call NOLA home, there are also 113 luxury residence apartments on site that are perfectly located in the medical corridor and within walking distance to the medical schools and hospitals.

Planning on making a visit to New Orleans or looking for a great staycation destination? Look no further than the Jung Hotel and Residences, and enjoy a drink by that gorgeous rooftop pool for me!
