Making Christmas Magical with a French Market Holiday

The French Market District is nothing short of magical during the holiday season with festive decor guiding shoppers and revelers along their way to merriment.

During this season, more than any other, people share with us their family traditions of coming down the French Market with French Market Christmas making Christmas magical with family fun for alltheir families.  Stories of yore when mom and pop would load-up the kids, even if just for a day or a few hours, and come down to enjoy beignets or to carol in Jackson Square.  With some traditions holding strong, others have yielded to new to new opportunities for locals and visitors alike to make new memories in the French Market District.

Kermit Ruffins’ Kick Off to Christmas

Formerly the French Market District has lit their Christmas Tree with small fanfare in Washington Artillery Park the Thursday before Thanksgiving.  However, this year, the French Market has teamed up with French Quarter Festival, Inc.’s Christmas New Orleans Style to present Kermit Ruffins’ Kick Off to Christmas on Friday, November 30th from 5:30-7:30 pm on the Moonwalk featuring a performance by Kermit Ruffins, the Roots of Music, and the French Market Tree Lighting followed by a fireworks show.  This is a family must-do this season hitting all the holiday high notes!
