

Here is your guide to New Orleans Pumpkin Patches and Fall activities! We’ve done all the research for you to find out who is open this year and what their safety protocols look like. We hope this helps make your fall season filled with family friendly activities whether in person or virtual!!
New Orleans
Peek-A-Boo at the ZOO
Location:4 Frederich’s Ave, New Orleans (City Park Reunion Shelter)
Dates: October 17th & 18th and October 24th & 25th
Times: 10am-5pm
Event details: Guests are invited to wear costumes and partake in daytime Halloween family fun. The zoo will be festively decorated. Fall treats will be available. Photo spot will be set up to capture memories. Members enjoy complimentary admission. Activities are included in general admission prices. Trick or treat bags are available for purchase for $10 each.
French Quartour Kids Spooky History Tour
Location: Scheduled when you call for a tour (504) 975-5355 or book online.
Dates & Times: Varied (check online for available times)
Event Details: This tour is full of tricks, treats, and spells and superstitions. It is for kids 5-10 years old. The tour is not designed to keep kids up at night but just to make them wonder, “What if….”
Cost: $20 per person ages 4 – 18, recommended for children ages 5-10. Groups are limited in size for social distancing purposes.
First Presbyterian Church
Location: 5401 S. Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans, LA
Dates: October 10th and October 24th
Times: 3:00 – 6:00 pm
Instead of hosting a pumpkin patch, two events for children will be held. On October 10th there will be a fall decoration panting party. On October 24th children 12 and under can participate in a costume contest for prizes.
St. Paul’s Episcopal School
Location: 6249 Canal Blvd. (Lakeview)
Dates: October 10th through October 31st
Times: M-Thu 3:30pm – 6:00pm, Friday 3:00 – 6:00pm, Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00pm
Event Details: St. Paul’s provides pumpkins of all sizes, from 3 pounds to over 40 pounds. Photo ops are available. Masks and social distancing are required. No cash. Credit and debit card only.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church
Location:1031 S. Carrollton Ave. (Uptown)
Dates: October 1st through October 31st
Times: Monday – Thursday 3:00pm-6:00pm and Friday – Sunday 9am-8pm
Event details: Kid friendly – games, crafts, and photo spots. Masks are required. Cash, Venmo, and credit are all accepted.
Ghosts In The Oaks: A Haunting At Home
Location:4 Frederich’s Ave, New Orleans (City Park Reunion Shelter)
Dates: October 24th – October 25th
Times: Pick up any time between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm both days.
Event details: Preorder your package online and don’t hesitate because only 500 wil be sold. Then you pick up your package the weekend of the event. Each package contains a Halloween baking kit, candy, balloon decorating kit, pumpkin and mask kits, games, paranormal playlist, skeleton craft kit, ghostly guide, and party planning tips. Packages start at $99. Costumes are encouraged for pickup.
NolaWeen at Mardi Gras World
Location: 1380 Port of Orleans Pl
Dates: October 1st – 31st
Times: First tour 9:30am; last tour 4:30pm.
Event details: Take a tour of Mardi Gras World and stop for photo ops at the 10 Halloween themed set ups. Normal tour rates apply for both adults and children. The crowd size is monitored and masks are required.
Sugar Roots Farm
Location: 10701 Willow Dr. New Orleans, LA
Dates: Every Saturday in October by appointment
Times: Time slots are available via SignUp Genius
Event Details: A socially distant ticketed family event. Only 30 individuals are booked per 2 hour time slot. For a $20 entrance fee guests will enjoy bands, pony rides, and art vendors. There is also a pumpkin patch area. Pumpkins are an additional fee.
Metairie
St. Martin’s Episcopal Church
Location: 2216 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA
Dates: Now through October 31st
Times: M-F 3:00pm – 6:30pm; Saturday and Sunday 10:00am – 6:30pm
Event Details: Pumpkins of varying sizes. On Friday, 10/16 and Sunday, 10/18 Red M studios will be providing free photos for patrons who bring a food items or cash donation for Second Harvest Food Bank.
St. Augustine Church
Location: 3412 Haring Road, Metairie, LA
Dates: October 1st through the 31st.
Times: Open Mon-Fri from 12:00pm until 8:00pm and Sat-Sun from 9:00am-8:00pm
Event Details: A variety of sizes. Masks are required. Schools can order large quantities for pickup or delivery.
Westbank
Bantings Nursery
Location: 3425 River Road, Bridge City, LA
Dates: October 3rd – November 1st
Times: Mon-Sat from 9:00am until 5:00pm and Sun from 9:00am until 4:00pm
Event Details: Banting’s has over 8 varieties of pumpkins available. Make sure to stop by the fall themed photo area to capture some memories of the family.
Northshore {Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington, Lacombe}
St. Anselm Madisonville
Location: 306 St. Mary Street, Madisonville, LA
Dates: October 25th
Times: after 11 am mass
Event Details: St. Anselm’s Family Fun Day and Pumpkin Patch. No cost to enter; pumpkins vary in size. Children are encouraged to wear costumes to compete in the costume contest. There will be games, food, and other fun festivities.
Pelican Park Fall Festival
Location: 63350 Pelican Dr, Mandeville, LA
Dates: October 25th
Times: 2-5 pm
Event Details: Experience the first annual Fall Festival with your family. There will be a scarecrow building contest, costume stroll, and pie tasting competition. Vendors will be selling crafts. Rules and regulations will apply. Contestants can preregister online.
Hammond
Mrs. Heather’s Pumpkin Patch
Location: 11215 Lee’s Lane (Hammond, LA)
Dates: September 23rd through November 8th
Times: Monday through Sunday 9:00am until 5:00pm
Event Details: $ per child, adults are free. Cash only. Pick a pumpkin, zip line, jumping pillow, face painting, farm animals, hay maze, picnic lunch spot, and more. Mrs. Heather’s also schedules field trips and birthday parties!
Slidell
St. Luke The Evangelist
Location: 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, LA
Dates: Opening October 11th; Pumpkin Fest is October 24th
Times: Daily; Monday – Friday (3:30pm – dark) and Saturday-Sunday (9:00am – dark)
Event Details: No cost to enter; pumpkins vary in size. Photo opportunities. Pumpkin Fest is for children in 3rd grade and younger. There will be games, sno-balls, story time, and pumpkin painting.
Baton Rouge

Important Note:
If you are planning to attend a church Pumpkin Patch be sure to call ahead. Many of the churches we spoke with said the opening dates were contingent on the pumpkins arriving as scheduled and are subject to change.

Can you please add Banting’s Nursery to the pumpkin patch list? They offer a huge variety of pumpkins and a fall family photo area!
They are open 7 days a week. Located in Bridge City and Lacombe.
There are NO pumpkins at Scout Island! I went there based on this. It is not a family friendly event even in the daytime. There were depictions of mutilated bodies, frightening clowns and inappropriate music. Please revise your list so other parents of young children do not make the same mistake .
