New Orleans

French Quartour Kids Spooky History Tour 

Location: Scheduled when you call for a tour (504) 975-5355 or book online.
Dates & Times: Varied (check online for available times)
Event Details: This tour is full of tricks, treats, and spells and superstitions. It is for kids 5-10 years old. The tour is not designed to keep kids up at night but just to make them wonder, “What if….”
Cost: $20 per person ages 4 – 18, recommended for children ages 5-10.

Boo Carre Halloween Haunt

Location: The French Market’s Dutch Alley
Date: Saturday, October 19th
Times: 10:30 am until 5:00 pm
Event Details: This one-day kid-centric event occurs in Dutch Alley, between Dumaine and St. Phillip Streets, with trick-or-treating throughout the French Market District, music, and activities.

First Presbyterian Church

Location: 5401 S. Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans, LA

Dates: October 6th through October 31st

Times: Weekdays 3:00pm to 7:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays 1:00pm to 7:00 pm.

St. Paul’s Episcopal School

Location: 6249 Canal Blvd. (Lakeview)
Dates: October 12th through October 31st
Times: M-F 12:00pm – 6:00pm, Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm and Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00pm
Event Details: St. Paul’s provides pumpkins of all sizes, from 3 pounds to over 40 pounds.

 St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church

Location:1031 S. Carrollton Ave. (Uptown)
Dates: October 1st through October 31st
Times: Kid friendly – free admission, games, spacewalk, and story hour. We’re open M-F 2pm-8pm and Sat. & Sun. 10am-8pm

Kid Zone at Scout Island Scream Park

Location: 1034 Harrison Ave., New Orleans
Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday from 9/28-11/2. Halloween week 10/29-10/31.
Times: Saturdays and Sundays 11:00 am-6:00 pm; 10/29-10/31 6:00 pm-11:00 pm.
Cost: Children 4 and up $20; Chaperone tickets $5; Under 3 is always free.

Event details: The Kid Zone is a not scary festive area for families to bring younger kids to celebrate Halloween with magicians, karaoke,  bounce house, kids focused entertainment, arts and crafts, and a pumpkin patch. Live bands before at 3pm. Imagination Movers will perform 10/26. On Halloween night superheros will hand out candy for Trick or Treat.

Sugar Roots Farm

Location: 10701 Willow Dr. New Orleans, LA

Dates: Every Saturday in October

Times: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Event Details: Pumpkin picking, horse rides, cider and baked good available.


Lafreneire Park and Plum Street Snoballs

Location: 3000 Downs Blvd. inside the splash pad (Metairie, LA)

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church

Location: 2216 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA
Dates: September 22nd through October 31st
Times: M-F 3:00pm until dark; Saturday and Sunday 10:00am until dark

St. Augustine Church

Location: 3412 Haring Road, Metairie, LA
Dates: October 3rd through the 31st. ** Pumpkin Palooza will be October 26th**
Times: Open Mon-Fri from 12:00pm until 8:00pm and Sat-Sun from 9:00am-8:00pm

Event Details: Continuing a 25+ year tradition St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church will kick off it’s 2019 Pumpkin Patch with the arrival of the first shipment of pumpkins on October 2nd between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. All are invited to participate in that unique fellowship that is unloading of the pumpkin truck. For those who cannot make it on 10/2, a second truck will arrive on 10/16 at the same time. A fun and physical time is had by all.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church

Location: 3245 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey, LA
Dates: October 12th through October 31st
Times:  Mon-Sat from 10:00am until 6:00pm and Sun from 12:00pm until 6:00pm
Event Details: Free admission.  St. Mark’s annual Fall Festival is on October 26th 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Activities include games, crafts, Blue Tails Pet Rescue, and more. There will be food trucks with refreshments for sale.

Join them for their Trunk or Treat October 31st at 6:00pm

Bantings Nursery

Location: 3425 River Road, Bridge City, LA
Dates: October 3rd – November 1st
Times:  Mon-Sat from 8:00am until 5:00pm and Sun from 9:00am until 4:00pm
Event Details: Banting’s has over 8 varieties of pumpkins available. Make sure to stop by the fall themed photo area to capture some memories of the family.

St. Bernard

St. Bernard Catholic Church

Location: 2805 Bayou Rd. St. Bernard, LA
Dates: October 15th through October 30th; Monday-Friday from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm; Weekends noon – 6:00 pm
Event Details: $2/child for hayride, $3/adult for hayride, $6 combo (pumpkin+child hayride). Pumpkins vary in price from $5-$12. Lots of family fun to be had with hay rides, pumpkin patch, and photo spots.

Northshore {Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington, Lacombe}

St. Anselm Madisonville

Location: 306 St. Mary Street, Madisonville, LA
Dates: October 27th
Times 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Event Details:  St. Anselm’s Family Fun Day and Pumpkin Patch. No cost to enter; pumpkins vary in size. Children are encouraged to wear costumes to compete in the costume contest. There will be games, food, and other fun festivities.

St. Peter Church

Location: 125 E. 19th Avenue, Covington, LA
Dates: October 13th through October 31st
Times: 9:30 am until dusk
Event Details: Pumpkins of all sizes, from decor size to small ones for pies. School visits are welcome. Call 985-892-2422 for more information.

Banting’s Nursery

Location: 26300 US 190, Lacombe, LA
Dates: October 3rd – November 1st
Times: Monday – Saturday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Sunday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Event Details: Pumpkins of all sizes, and over 8 varieties. Also, a fall themed photo set up.

Pumpkins in the Park at TerraBella Village

Location: 111 Terra Bella Blvd. TerraBella Village, Covington, LA
Dates: October 26th
Times: 11am – 2pm
Event Details: Join in on the fun for the 10th annual event. Complementary event featuring pumpkins, pumpkin painting, face painting, jump house, hay ride, crafts for the kids, food trucks with food and beverage available to purchase and more!

Pumpkins for children will be available with a cash donation.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Covington Food Bank.


Mrs. Heather’s Pumpkin Patch

Location: 11215 Lee’s Lane (Hammond, LA)
Dates: September 23rd through November 8th
Times: Monday through Sunday 9:00am until 4:00pm
Event Details: $7 per child Mon-Fri and $8 per child Sat-Sun, adults are free. Pick a pumpkin, zip line, jumping pillow, face painting, farm animals, hay maze, picnic lunch spot, and more. Mrs. Heather’s also schedules field trips and birthday parties!


First United Methodist

Location: 433 Erlanger Street, Slidell, LA
Dates: September 28th through October 31st
Times: Daily; Monday – Sunday 9:00am – 8:00pm
Event Details: No cost to enter; pumpkins vary in size. Photo opportunities. Goodies, crafts, and water for sale.

St. Luke The Evangelist

Location: 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, LA
Dates: October 13th through October 31st
Times: Daily; Monday – Friday (4:00pm – dark) and Saturday-Sunday (8:00am – dark)
Event Details: No cost to enter; pumpkins vary in size. Photo opportunities.

Liuzza Land

Location: 56186 Holden Circle Amite, LA 70422
Dates: Saturday, October 27th from 10:00 am-3:00 pm

Event Details: The cost is $10/person. Each child receives a pie pumpkin with admission. Enjoy pumpkin picking, wagon ride, pony ride, goat feeding, petting zoo, giant jumping pillow, tunnel/hill slide, corn maize, pioneer playhouses, tractor swings, and much more! Food trucks will be on site selling food and beverages at an additional cost.


St. Charles United Methodist Church

Location: 1905 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan, LA
Dates: October 6th through October 31st
Times: Monday – Friday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm; Sunday 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Event Details: Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Donations collected will be used for missions and local youth programs. Pumpkins vary in size. Local choirs will perform 10/14-10/18.

Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge Area Fall Family Events

Perilloux’s Pumpkin Patch

Location: 17834 River Road, Montz, LA
Dates: October 4th through October 31st
Times: Weekdays by appointment only; Weekends 9:00 am until 5:00 pm
Event Details: $7 per person (same for adults and kids). Price includes a pumpkin, as well as a hayride which take place once an hour on the hour. Call (985)652-3672 for an appointment.

Important Note:

If you are planning to attend a church Pumpkin Patch be sure to call ahead. Many of the churches we spoke with said the opening dates were contingent on the pumpkins arriving as scheduled and are subject to change. 

Amanda Blaum
Amanda is her name and sequins are her game. She can never be too extra with fashion or fun. Boymomming keeps her busy. In between playdates and ballpark games, she enjoys dates with her husband of 8 years and girls nights with her mom squad.

    Can you please add Banting’s Nursery to the pumpkin patch list? They offer a huge variety of pumpkins and a fall family photo area!
    They are open 7 days a week. Located in Bridge City and Lacombe.

  2. There are NO pumpkins at Scout Island! I went there based on this. It is not a family friendly event even in the daytime. There were depictions of mutilated bodies, frightening clowns and inappropriate music. Please revise your list so other parents of young children do not make the same mistake .
