New Year’s Eve Traditions To Bring Luck in the New Year

New Year’s Eve Traditions To Bring Luck in the New Year

Welcome to 2025! The year of so many new hopes, desires, and best of all luck.
With multiple traditions heard across the world, my friends and I have tried a few throughout the years that I thought would be pretty fun.

I have compiled some of my favorite New Year’s Eve traditions that you should try while ringing in the new year!

Eating right for peace, wealth and manifesting

Bring luck and wealth in the new year by eating black-eyed peas, cornbread, and cabbage. This references paper money (the cabbage), gold (cornbread), and for peace the black-eyed peas.

Twelve grapes are supposed to be eaten for manifesting. When you are eating the 12 grapes, one for each month, make sure to make a wish each time you eat one. But hurry, you only have one minute to finish!

Dress your best when entering the New Year

Dressing the part will allow the feeling of the new year to bring comfort to you. Dress how you would like the year to turn out – fabulous!

Wearing polka dots is a Philippines tradition. The wearing of the polka dots is said to be good luck and to bring prosperity full circle into the year.

Wear white, which is said to represent purity, innocence, and peace in your life.

A year of love and romance

Give your loved one a nice kiss at midnight to strengthen the bond and for a full love year of love to come!

Write it out

Send thank you notes to those who have had an impact on your life before the year ends, or if hosting a celebration, read them aloud to one another.

Have everyone write out their wishes for the year, place them in a jar, and at the end of the year, read them to see if they came true.

Take a minute to write some of the things you want to release; this will help you bring the year in on a positive note. Also, a fun way to let it go is by burning the note and letting it release into the air.

Clean out the bad vibes

Before sunset on New Year’s Eve, have your house clean and ready for the new year. Open all the doors and windows to welcome the new into the home (weather permitting, of course).

These are just a few of the ones I’ve tried throughout the years. And I believe I have had some good luck along the way. But the main thing is that I get to do them with my loved ones.

Have you tried any of the traditions here or ones you think would be fun to try out? Share them I would love to try some others.

Wishing you a blessed, safe, and prosperous new year! Happy New Year!
