‘Cause We Need a Little Christmas

“right this very minute!”

Bring on Christmas! It may only be early November, but I have my Lifetime Christmas Movie on while I am snuggled up in my bed with some coffee. Christmas is without a doubt my favorite season but even more so this year. 2020 has thrown us some crazy curveballs all year and I think an early joyful holiday season will do us all some good in my opinion. Here are some ways to start celebrating the season early ::

mom and daughter decorating the treePut Up Your Tree

Who says what is the correct time to put up your tree? The weekend after Thanksgiving? December 1st? Our family usually decorates the week of Thanksgiving but since it’s 2020, anything goes! If putting up your tree weeks earlier than normal makes you smile, I say go for it. I personally love seeing my tree up in my home, so this is a no brainer for me!

Get Shopping Done Early

If you are one of those people who have been done holiday shopping for weeks now, this section isn’t for you. If you are still checking off your shopping list, November is a great time to get some deals. Lots of big retailers are doing big sales weeks leading up to Black Friday, so take advantage! Getting your shopping completely done in November will relieve some holiday stress and let you enjoy the season much more. Hot tip, wrap early!

Deck the Halls

Retailers have been putting out holiday decorations for weeks now and there’s no shortage of items to be purchased. I’ve even seen a few funny ornaments and decorations with face masks on Santas! Having my house decorated for the holidays always makes me smile and I love the anticipation it brings leading up to the special day!

christmas gift Holiday Movies and Music

There is a reason why Hallmark and Lifetime Holiday Movies are such a hit every year; they make people happy! It doesn’t matter if the endings are totally predictable, just put on a Lifetime (or Hallmark) movie and enjoy. And don’t forget about holiday music! I’ve been known to listen to Christmas music year round (but only in private) but come November 1st, I’ll be crossing my fingers my Sirius Radio has their holiday stations out!

‘Cause we need a little Christmas Mamas! So if it sparks joy for you to watch some Lifetime while enjoying some hot cocoa with your tree light’s flickering in the background; then 100% go for it. You can find me sippin’ on an iced gingerbread latte while blaring some new pop version of a traditional holiday song. We ALL need some holiday cheer!
