His {tasc Performance} Thoughts
I know this sounds crazy, but my day starts at 4:00am. I roll out of bed like a zombie, and I slowly get ready for the gym. By 4:30 I’m lifting weights or I’m running on the treadmill (against my will), depending on my work out for the day. Friends often ask me how I manage to do this, but all I tell them is that I’m used to it by now. I have had plenty of long days between my Army days, a son who is a night owl, and wanting to find time in the day to workout such that it works with everyone else’s schedule. That’s how I landed at 4:00am.
When my wife told me to pick out what I wanted to try from tasc Performance’s new spring collection, I was hesitant at first because it is not what I am used to. As a guy I know what I like to wear and I stick to it. After some prodding and encouragement, I was willing to give tasc Performance a try.
Charge II T
I loved this shirt. It might be the most comfortable shirt I have now. In the gym I noticed how I never had to mess with the shirt because of the relaxed fit. I don’t know what voodoo they used to make this shirt so cool, but they should keep doing it because it is amazing. I can’t wait to test this shirt out in July when I’m cutting the grass to see how it holds up to a Louisiana summer.
Charge 8″ Short
I have to tell you that as someone who lived in soccer shorts growing up and still plays in a 30 and over (read: geriatric) soccer league on the weekends, it’s hard for me to change. I loved these shorts but I won’t be hitting the pitch with them anytime soon. The shorts are super comfortable and light like everything else from tasc. You almost forget that you are even wearing them. I think the best thing about them is that they have pockets. I know that sounds trivial, but when you go from no pockets to having three it’s kind of a big deal. While I didn’t try them myself, another local dad says the tasc Performance boxer briefs are also worth having in your closet.
Her {tasc Performance} Thoughts
A few months ago, a new 24-hour studio opened up 10 minutes from my house. I quickly ended my membership with the traditional gym for HIIT and ISO workouts in a sauna. The fact that I could take a class at 7:00pm was a huge deal for me because that’s when I’m most motivated to work out (fellow night owls, holla!) and it fits well into our family’s schedule. Unfortunately, the clothes I wore to lift weights (t-shirt and cotton joggers) were not working out; no pun intended! My t-shirts clung to me, and they seemed to absorb all the heat. My joggers did the same thing. I would walk out of the sauna feeling extra sticky and gross. Enter: tasc Performance.
When I was offered the opportunity to try their new Spring Collection, I was beyond ecstatic. Looking through their outfits online, I was surprised by the amount of diversity they offer. This is not your just yoga pants/tank top kind of business! It didn’t take me long to find something I liked and know that it would look great.
Move Free Legging
The first thing I noticed when I tried these on was the wide waist band. It smoothes out all those areas motherhood has brought into my life. I put these yoga pants to the ultimate test: a 45-minute ISO workout and 15-minute HIIT workout in a 125 degree sauna. During my workout, I noticed that behind the knees is a sort of mesh material. Seemed weird, but it kept me cool because sweat wasn’t pooling in that very sweaty area, and I didn’t have anything clinging to me. When I walked out the sauna, I didn’t have to pull soaking-wet pants out of my -ahem- area.
St. Charles Racer
Can I tell you how incredibly soft this top is?! I would be lying if I said I have only worn it to work out in. But seriously, this top does a great job pulling all the sweat without leaving me with a soaked, clingy shirt. I never thought that anti-odor would be something important to me (because I glisten, baby) until I came out the sauna smelling like a man. You know how they have those special laundry detergents for sports clothes? I now understand its need, though I don’t think I’ll be needing it any time soon.
