One of the items on my “pre-baby bucket list” was to run a half marathon. During the summer and fall of 2009, my husband and I got on quite the fitness kick and trained for the Jazz Half Marathon, which benefits Children’s Hospital. That race was my first introduction to tasc Performance (then branded as Thriv). We both fell in love with the products immediately and have since acquired several pieces. The material is so ridiculously soft, but even better, it truly does perform better than other workout gear I’ve tried. I actually felt dry within minutes of finishing the race, and I don’t mind wearing it for a little while after I exercise even in the absurd New Orleans heat. My personal favorite product is the Cape Elizabeth Racerback.
tasc Performance is a local company based out of Metairie and was founded in response to one simple question: why does performance have to equal synthetic? The Andrews family recognized the lack of a product with superior comfort and performance, so they created one and started the company in Fall 2009. tasc’s patent pending fabric offers moisture wicking, anti-odor properties, protection from the sun’s rays, temperature regulation and extreme comfort, and does all of these things without chemical treatments. This means the performance will never wear out, rub off or wash away. What do you want against your skin?
I really can’t say enough good things about tasc’s products. My husband probably has 10 of the men’s Carrollton Performance Crew tops and wears them non-stop. Even though these clothes are technically meant to work out in, they also make great lounge wear as well. We are huge fans in our household!
